Personal goals for 2025

So we have threads on Administrata discussing our goals for our websites/communities for 2025, and that's all well and good, but we're all people too! We all have individual goals, needs, or targets.

New Year is traditionally a time for people to make New Years Resolutions - goals for themselves in their personal lives for the year ahead.

I'm as guilty as anyone of making New Years Resolutions most years which are then out of the window by the end of January. :ROFLMAO: But, it can be a great motivator to make yourself a target - so, Administratans, what are some of your personal goals for the coming year?

I suppose my main goals for 2025 are:
  • Saving up enough money for a new motorcycle (currently eyeing the CF Moto 800 NK Nebula)
  • Continuing going to the gym on a regular basis since I feel like it's a good habit I started last year
  • Launching the branding agency I've been preparing with someone (mid '25)
  • Getting more freelance projects / doubling my freelance income
  • Making myself happier overall (I've been kind of neglecting my own well-being since living alone again :censored:)

Those are some great goals, specifically the last one!

I myself have made a few goals this year, and one of mine is quite similar to yours:

- Taking at least one day a month to go and do something I want to do, and for this day alone not worry about others.

I'm in a similar situation, living alone but with regular visitors. I often have guests stay a night and such, sometimes to my own detriment. (being extremely tired at work the next day from hosting, etc) So I decided I wanted a goal that will allow myself a day here and there where I sort of "forget" other people (in the nicest possible way!) and just do something for myself and myself alone. This seemed to fit well. :)

I usually don't like to make New years resolutions because I never follow through on them. This year I'm going to focus on making changes to be happier. I'm doing fine, but there's a few things I want to work on to make myself even happier than I am now. I've also been trying to drink more water too, because I don't drink enough. The past few days I've been drinking more and more water.

I hope to have about $300 - $400 put back in case I need to spend it on anything. So, I'm trying to make a threshold not to go under that budget.

Most people don't complete their New Year's Goals because they set too high of a goal that is hard to achieve.

Instead of quitting smoking as the resolution, why not make it go from 2 packs a day to 1 pack a day.

Instead of loosing 100 pounds as a resolution, focus on losing 3 pounds a month.

Focus on goals that are achievable with smaller amounts of effort.

This is also a strategy on how to win in business. Your goals should be achievable rather than so far-fetched that you burn yourself out trying to accomplish the impossible.

My goal is pretty simple this year: Blog every day for a year on my ShawnGossman.com blog.

I planned to make 2025 a year I wrote more. I've been writing more on - shock, horror - LinkedIn and I have a few other ideas I want to try.
