Conflicts Mass Spamming

Have you ever dealt with mass spamming on your board, where a member committed to mass spamming via posting, PMs, or other means?

I don't believe I've ever dealt with mass spamming on one of my boards, but I've been the culprit. I once spammed many users' inboxes on a forum due to a staff member severely ticking me off. This was when I was in my lower twenties when I was immature and going through a lot of trauma. I'm 34 now.

How did you handle the mass spamming? Could you delete all of the content promptly, did you get the forum network staff involved, and did you ban that member immediately?

I don't think so... but I am thankful that MyBB has a 'Purge Spammer' button for new members - for exactly that eventuality !

i haven’t experienced this yet, but I do have spam prevention in place and flood control to help prevent it.

I can also “select all” on a user’s posts and move them all with ease if it happens.

I've dealt with members that signed up with the sole purpose to spam they're links, and they've been banned. I never had a member do it by PM.

I was hammered by PM spammers back when I used VB, but not since using XF

I only dealt with really annoying spammers on Proboards, they come flooding in and you need to take care of them as soon as possible. I've seen old established forums become abandoned and taken over by spam.
