A great way for anyone to pick up programming is by reading practical books. But these kinds of books is hard to come by, it is not easily available like other courses and niche.

I have been making use of forums and blogs to catch up.

Do you know of any programming books you can recommend?

For beginners, I’d definitely recommend Code Complete by Steve McConnell and Introduction to Algorithms by Thomas H. Cormen. What I like about these books is that it focused on foundational programming.

Python Crash Course by Eric Matthes is my favourite. Also HTML and CSS: Design and Build Websites by Jon Duckett is also helpful in providing a gentle learning for beginners.
