If you have a client that really wants that vanity .tech domain or whatever else. Do you try to steer them towards something more traditional? The cost on their end is higher and I am concerned that they see the fancy name at the end and the cheap promo and don't realize how much it will be next year.

It depends on the kind of site or business your are wanting to start and whether or not vanity domains would be worthwhile and a good investment.

I always tend to make sure anyone considering a vanity domain understands that it will cost a considerable amount a year later so that they are aware and can make a decision based on that.

I don’t bother with vanity domains, so no, I don’t think they’re worth it.

If the .com and .net extension is available, then i’d stir the client into getting them.
