Most times new forum owners don't have them funds to put each and everyone of their staff member on a payroll which is the reason why they have some people volunteer freely to work as their staff members.

 

For those who are working with staff members that are not paid, how active are they contributing to the management of your community? Do you think it's worth keeping them around?

Even if you're working with volunteer staff members, it's important for you to find ways to motivate them. This is the only you can get the best from them because they are not being paid.

I don't have any volunteer staff members at the moment on either forum I own or co-own, we are managing the forums at the moment just the two of us.

 

I have in the past had volunteer staff on other forums though and I found them to be active and contributed to help with the success of the forum.
