I've known some people who change or upgrade their smartphone every year. A friend of mine always upgrade his iPhone each a new version comes out.

 

I don't worry about changing my smartphone until it's no longer serving me 100%. It's usually within 3 years that I have mine changed. I've also had one for 4 years before changing it.

I've owned 4 phones, total, since 2002. Two dumb phones, two smart phones. I'm coming up on 4 years on my iPhone, and I see zero reason to change it at this point all the time it's still getting security updates.

I’ve had my iPhone 13 for about three years now, and I don’t see the point of upgrading. I’ll upgrade it when it breaks or something.

 

 

I used the iPhone 8 for a long time, and the only reason I upgraded to the 13 was because the charging port was damaged. I had to choose between replacing it or upgrading.

Truth be told the only reason I even bought an iPhone is because I was in the market for a new job, and I lived in a property at the time that had bad wifi signal, and my old Nokia PureView couldn't do wifi-assist calling.

I have an iPhone 11 right now, I had an iPhone 6S before that. I only change it when it starts to be dysfunctional.

I usually get a new smartphone every four years.

I bought my last smartphone in 2020, it's still is going strong. I'll replace it when it breaks and assuming I have the money to buy a new one. knocks on wood.

I don't upgrade my phone that often. I just got a new phone in August, the phone I had before that I got in 2021 so I had it for 3 years. I'll keep my Moto G 5G 2024 for a bit longer before I decide to get a new phone.

When my mother and father return to Texas, I might buy a new iPhone. I'm on a family plan under my mother's contract, so she handles all that information. My mother purchased an iPhone 16 Pro on their trip. I don't know if mine will be that big of an upgrade, but it beats a phone diminishing. Not to mention, it has a hard time charging with cords, and I mainly have to use a charging pad because of that.
