Welcome to the What’s New thread! This is where you’ll find updates on all the minor tweaks, new features, and additions to Administrata. Think of it as our ongoing changelog, where we’ll regularly post to keep you in the loop. For bigger updates, we’ll share dedicated announcements as needed. Stay tuned for the latest enhancements and improvements coming your way!

The last couple of days went into the development of our Content & Design Order system. It's worth noting that this has now been completed.

 

While we're still working on the Meet The Staff section for content services (as we're actively recruiting talented team members), the system is ready for you to use.

From here, you can choose between two services:

 

• Content Services: Order Content
  
• Design Services: Order Design
  

Each section contains essential details about the services offered, including pricing, along with easy-to-use call-to-action buttons for placing your order.

 

For example, if you're looking to order a custom logo, simply click the relevant button, and you'll be directed to the thread creation page. From there, you can fill in all the necessary details—your specifications, requirements, and any additional information—and our team will take care of the rest!

To ensure client privacy, we've decided to keep the Content & Design Order forums somewhat hidden. Instead of displaying these forums directly on the index page, we’ve opted for a redirect forum that links to the services overview page.

 

However, if you need direct access to the forums, they are still easily accessible through the navigation menu under "Shop & Orders". This allows for a seamless experience while maintaining privacy for our clients.

A small update to the member cards.

Your last message will appear in the user's card and in viewing user profile

If the member has no messages then nothing will be displayed. A small but powerful addition to our profiles. :)

• "Is This Already Being Discussed?" Alerts: No more duplicate threads - if you create a thread that's been made already, you'll see it popping under the thread title.
  
• Similar Topics: Discover related discussions seamlessly below the thread's content.
  
• Improved Search Functionality: Faster and more accurate results for better browsing.
  
• Search Suggestions: Typing made simple with instant, relevant auto-suggestions.

We're able to roll out two new features for The Directory: Contributor/Co-Ownership and Polls!

 

[HEADING=2]Contributor/Co-Ownership[/HEADING]

Managing a community often involves teamwork, and now The Directory makes collaboration even easier.

• Co-Owners & Contributors: You can now assign Co-Owners or Contributors to your Directory items. Both roles have access to manage and edit the item, just like the owner, with some slight feature differences between the roles.
  
• Perfect for Teams: Ideal for communities managed by multiple admins or contributors, ensuring everyone has the access they need. Anyone who is part of the team will be listed under the title.
  
• Self-Join Option: All categories allow members to self-join as contributors - look out for the [Contribute] button on the items! Or look for the "Manage contributors/co-owners" in the "More options" tab. If you don't want this option, you can disable the contribute button on your item.

Engage your audience and gather insights by adding Polls to your Directory items!

 

• Create Polls: Add a poll when creating a new Directory item or attach one to an existing item.
  
• Interactive Display: Polls are displayed prominently above the link details, making it easy for visitors to participate.

As we move forward in 2025, I've made a small change in the themes we offer.

 

I've removed the Christmas edition of our theme and some of you may already be aware that when we merged, we installed the theme from Agora on Administrata.

This theme will now act as our default theme.

 

If you prefer our old default theme, it's of course still available in the theme selector. :)

Are you sometimes confused wondering if you're in a thread or a conversation?

 

Well, I've made a small but impactful tweak to conversation templates, making it easier than ever to see the difference between conversations, threads, and profile posts. No more squinting to figure out where you are or panicking over private stuff in the wrong place!

 

Think of it as giving your inbox a modern, chat-inspired glow-up - smooth, clear, and just better. Signatures are also now blocked from displaying in conversations. Sorry, but it looks just better this way.

Just a quick update—several add-ons were outdated, and they’ve now been updated to their latest versions. Nothing you’d really notice, and there weren’t any major changes, but as always, if you spot anything weird, let me know! 🙂

Several add on's have been updated. There are no noticeable changes on the front end except that the Topsites will now reset their votes every month. So this makes it easier to climb the ranks every month.

I've just rolled out a new sidebar widget that allows you to see who was online today. :) It’s a great way to keep track of the activity and see which members have been active on the forum.

 

Additionally, I’ve added a member legend to help you quickly identify user groups.

For a more clean look, I’ve also removed the bold styling on usernames.

This is just a small update, but I wanted to inform you all that I've taken the time to simplify the forum layout names slightly.

 

Additionally, you will now see a new activity feed on the top of the forum, quickly informing you of new content such as new posts, new threads, forum promotion, marketplace offers, resources and anything else featured. Enjoy.
