Does anyone here play the lottery or any other kind of similar thing. We've got the euro-millions for Europe. If you won the lottery (like a huge jackpot that made you rich), who is the first person that you'd tell? What would you do with your winnings? Would you keep your job or do something entirely different or just relax and do nothing at all?

Nope. it a complete government scam. Notice how old people usually win lol ?

I’d split my euro-millions with you.

Same here. I’d also split with me you. 😍

I have on the odd occasion but never won anything significant.

That said, when I worked at one job, though, it was in a small village, and I’d go into the one shop in town and buy scratch cards - because small village, it had a predictable turnover of the scratch cards such that I could have a feeling about when was a good time to buy. For cards whose win rate was just better than 1 in 4 (1 in 3.92 on average), I had a win rate of 3/4, and found myself several hundred pounds up ever after buying dozens of cards.

Holder of controversial opinions, all of which my own.

I buy a few $20 scratch off tickets after Christmas time. Sometimes I win all the money back I spent on Christmas!

If the lottery numbers are into the high millions, I'll buy a ticket or two to test my luck.

I rarely play the lottery, only on special occasions like visiting the State Fair and buying a lottery ticket from the ticket booth. I don't know if I've ever won anything over $10.

I buy scratch-offs every six months or so. The most I’ve ever won was 80 bucks. I always buy $20 worth of scratch-offs.

I don’t buy lottery tickets, though.

There's more chance of anyone being struck by lightning than winning the lottery.

So based on that, I don't.

I buy a few $20 scratch off tickets

Every now and then when I'm out grocery shopping, I'll buy 1000 yen of scratchers, or 5. I typically "win" 500-800 yen, but have had times I walked with nothing.

One day will make up for it with the 1,000,000 yen prize (about $10,000) as each booth has a winning ticket at all times. I think they just replace the rolls/randomize them when someone wins. Obviously, the odds are still stacked from the beginning, and even more when they rotate out.

I'd be fine with $10K!

The most I've won on a scratch off ticket was $1,000 which was still cool. It was a $30 ticket.

I don't play the lottery because I grew up watching my mom play and never won LOL the amount that lady spent on tickets is ridiculous. I mean we had the money but still lol. Now that I'm older I don't play. In the rare occasion that I do play I don't ever expect to win.

If I won the lottery I wouldn't tell anyone but there would be signs lol

No, honestly no, the chances of winning are very, very small, it is much more possible for you to win money in a casino than in a lottery, which is why I do not play the lottery, it would be a huge waste of money without any sense.

When there's a EuroMillions rollover jackpot, or a National Lottery must-win special jackpot, I'll usually buy 2 tickets if I remember on my way home from work one day or something. I've won a couple of hundred pounds a few times, but never any life-changing amounts... yet. Maybe next year will finally be my year. :)

No, it's a waste of money, I have as much chance of winning as I have of raising the dead and I won't get involved in anything sanctioned by the corrupt British Government.
The wind may howl but I will not be swept away – Mike Duncan.
Only when the jackpot gets unusually high.

Statistics suggest you will be hit by lightning 3 times before you win the lottery odds.

So yes, I play scratchers and draws, 🤪

Have you ever gotten lucky on scratch tickets? If so, what was the highest that you’ve ever won?

I've won a few hundred but I really don't play a whole lot.

But when I play scratchers, one way to better your odds if you can, is to get a printout of remaining prizes for active scratcher games, when you first walk in. Avoid the games where most of the wins are claimed already, and play the ones that still have tons to win. You don't want to buy a ticket from a stale game that is almost over.

I play the lottery, but not very often. I actually went out to the shops an hour or two ago and bought two tickets for the EuroMillions draw tonight, mainly because I saw an advert on TV that there's 10 UK Millionaire Maker codes being drawn tonight. A million pounds would be absolutely lovely to start 2025! 🥳

I tried Some gambling sites like stake but I am looser, never tried big lottery sites. If I win I will go to Bangkok and stay there for few months and enjoy my time massage sessions. I will quit my job and invest some money in low risk mutual funds.
i will play the lottery once in a blue moon. You never win so what is the point

I have in the past, but I never win the jackpot. I wish. If I won millions, I'd go ahead and retire. No more work!!!
