The renaissance of older creative hobbies: Have you returned to any analog pastimes?

Posted

Activities like knitting, gardening, bread baking, and film photography have seen renewed interest in recent years. Have you picked up or returned to any traditional hobbies? What do you find satisfying about these analog activities compared to digital ones? Has social media ironically fueled your interest in these disconnected activities?

I love reading, it's something I do every night with a cup of tea. I do use an e-reader but I do consider that unplugging because all you can do is read on them. I'm minimal when it comes to reading, I don't want a bunch of books every where. For me, reading is a way for me to unwind before bed. Silencing my overactive brain. I've also found that it improves my memory and helps organize my thoughts.

Same here. I'm always on the hunt for new books to read. It's my go to hobby when I want to sit down and read something good. I've probably read about 20 new books so far this year, but I'm aiming to read about 10-30 more by the end of the year.

It also helps me unwind and enjoy my night.
