With Apple Mail privacy changes and Gmail filters, are email open rates still a useful metric? What’s your go-to for measuring email performance now?

Featured Replies

Email open rates in 2025 are less reliable than they used to be. With privacy features like Apple’s Mail Privacy Protection and similar tools, opens can be inflated or masked. Many marketers now focus more on click-through rates, conversions, and engagement to measure success. That said, open rates can still offer some directional insight, especially if you segment by device or client, but they shouldn't be your only metric.
