I have no idea on what I can do with the data I collect on my forum. I am not even sure if the users are actually using real email.

I don't think this is much a concern for forum owners, unless you ran some huge forum, and in that case, I don't see the big deal with data collection, as long as it wasn't used for stalking or something.
