Forums often attract users from various age groups, but engaging them all can be tricky. Have you found strategies to encourage interaction between younger and older members? How do you handle generational differences in communication styles? What are the ways to make forums inclusive across generations.

My forum is open to all ages because I don't allow stuff that's not minor-appropriate to be on there.

You can’t attract younger and older members just like that. You have to build your communities’ foundation and just focus on building it.

Forums are for everyone. It’s not necessarily a good idea to focus on age groups as you should aim to attract everyone.

it would great to train a diverse group of professionals and community stakeholders in a specific community to work in an intergenerational way. you can have collective planning process aimed at developing an intergenerational agenda for their community.

Encourage diverse conversations that appeal to all ages by creating inclusive content. Host events or discussions that invite input from different generations. Ensure moderation is respectful, and highlight perspectives from various age groups to foster mutual respect and understanding.
To handle generational differences, I encourage diverse communication styles, offering clear guidelines for respectful engagement. Making forums inclusive involves using accessible language, fostering empathy, and creating spaces for each generation to share experiences and perspectives.
