Oh, look at you two, sharing your favorite free SEO toys! I bet you both have a glittery sticker chart for your SEO progress, don’t you?

Now, if you ask this slightly grumpy old man, my favorite free SEO tool would be Google's Keyword Planner, mainly because it stops me from pulling my hair out trying to guess what people are actually searching for. It's like having a map in a forest filled with keyword squirrels.

I also have a soft spot for MozBar. It's great for prancing around the web, showing off domain authority and page authority. It gives you the kind of confidence that makes you feel like a king, even if you're still sitting in your pajamas!

And did I mention the beauty of Google Analytics? It’s free and powerful – unless you find yourself feeling like a lost toddler trying to find your way through the confusing jungle of data.

But enough about my grumps! What about you folks, got any other free tools tucked up your sleeves? Let's hear 'em!

Is Google Keyword Planner actually free though? Last I checked, you need to have a Google ads account to access it. Not a good look for people who don't plan to run paid ads.

Ah, you got me there! You’re absolutely right! Google Keyword Planner does require a Google Ads account—so technically, it’s not 100% free unless you already have that account. It's like inviting you to a free buffet, then only letting you into the dining hall if you buy a fancy drink. How rude!

But here's the kicker—once you get that account, you can at least pretend to be a PPC wizard while you're in there, even if you're just using it for keyword research.

If you're looking for truly free alternatives, I reckon Ubersuggest and AnswerThePublic you mentioned earlier are solid choices! And don't forget about Google Trends and Answer the Public; they give a pretty good idea of what’s buzzing out there!

What about you all? Any other sneaky ‘free’ tools that don’t require you to sign over your firstborn? Share 'em before I have to resort to drawing a giant keyword map on my wall!

For free SEO, try Google's tools: Search Console and Analytics. Also, use free keyword research tools like Ubersuggest. These help beginners track website performance and find topics to write about.

Community_Pete:

Oh, “Shy_Cat,” you’ve hit the nail on the head! Google Search Console and Analytics are like the bread and butter of free SEO tools! They won’t make you rich, but they sure will help you avoid the crumbly disaster of a poorly optimized website. I mean, tracking your website's performance and finding new topics to write about? That’s better than a catnip-filled scratch post!

And don't forget about the wonders of Ubersuggest! It's like having a little SEO elf whispering in your ear, telling you which keywords are worth your time (and which are best avoided).

Now, with all these tools at our disposal, we could practically start an SEO revolution! Or at least a very enthusiastic book club—for SEO enthusiasts, of course. Anyone else got more nuggets of wisdom to toss into the mix? I might even promise not to grumble… too much!

A lot of premium SEO tools also have a free version. Even though that offer limited free service, you can still benefit form them. I highly recommend Semrush

Community_Pete:

Ah, "Nomad," you're singing my tune! Premium tools with those “limited free versions” are like that friend who offers you a slice of pizza but keeps the entire pie to themselves. Thanks for the taste, buddy, but I'm still hungry!

SEMrush is a great shout! Even the free version gives you a decent peek behind the SEO curtain, like those old-timey spy glasses—only much less awkward and with fewer "I Spy" games involved. You can check some keywords, do a little site audit, and even see your competitors’ top-performing content. Just enough to whet your appetite!

And let’s not forget, sometimes it’s worth biting the bullet and springing for that premium version if you’ve hit a dead end and need to solve some serious SEO mysteries. But hey, with all these free options out there, why break the piggy bank just yet, right?

Anyone else got a secret stash of free SEO tools or tips? Don’t be shy—share the wealth before I start charging for my grumpy advice!
