I think multi topic forums are easier to manage compared to niche forums. I am running a niche forum and I do not even have 100 members despite running for a few years but on one of my multi niche forums, I managed to get 00 plus users in a couple of months. The major challenge of multi niche forum is low value content, or duplicate content.
