Choosing the right moderators is very important for a healthy forum. Do you choose from active members or recruit externally? What qualities do you seek and how do you train them? How do you build a reliable and engaged moderation team.

You can recruit forum moderators, define the role clearly, identify active users, request applications, offer incentives, communicate expectations, and provide training to ensure moderators understand the community culture and guidelines effectively.

I don't need forum moderators because my projects are too small at the moment. However, though, if I did need them, I'd be willing to pay decently because it's not fair to underpay people.

Anyway, I do have a Facebook group that needs a lot of moderation. I was thinking about getting moderator and the things I said above would apply.

What is the background requirements?

There are plenty of trustworthy people on the forum promotion sites online. Anyway, though, if I need more assurance, I can check their history dealing with customers somehow. Note: I really feel like a reputation system like on DigitalPoint.com is the way to go.
