Monetization can be tricky in forums. Ads, subscriptions, or affiliate marketing are common, but they must align with user expectations. How do you strike a balance between generating revenue and maintaining a seamless user experience? What has worked for your community?

You can Monetize a forum subtly with premium memberships, relevant ads, affiliate marketing, donations, sponsored content, and merchandise. Focus on enhancing user experience and keeping monetization strategies aligned with the community's interests to avoid alienation.

The less ads the better and ads work better on some niches (like employment) than others.

Myself, I don't like ads outside of certain niches like employment. Ads are something most users dislike (I think that's the case.), so I don't want to be on their bad side.

One Exception: Most users on employment sites probably like ads from experience.
