Would you donate money to a forum that you frequently visit even if no benefits are included?

 

I prefer not to donate to forums unless I deriver certain over the top benefits compared to registered members. For example, when I was actively roleplaying in Harry Potter forums, I used to donate to buy certain new character powers that is required for the character that I roleplay. Apart from that, I find no other reason to donate money to a forum.

 

What are your thoughts?

I have actively supported the community in the past by making donations and upgrading my account to premium status. These contributions reflect my ongoing commitment to helping the community grow and succeed. My involvement as a member has always been focused on adding value and ensuring the platform thrives for everyone involved.

I wouldn't. Every euro is important to me and giving it away to somebody who probably has more then I do in terms of income is a foolish move. Of course, that's how I see it.

If a forum I was using I was a regular member of and I had high hopes in their success, I would consider helping by donating.

I’ve only donated to a forum once, and that was because I gained access to a knowledgeable person's exclusive articles about being a webmaster. Otherwise, I don’t think I would donate unless there’s something valuable offered in return for the donation—something that enhances the experience or provides unique benefits. In my opinion, there has to be added value for the donor.

I might donate to a friend who is struggling financially, and he/she wants to set up some forum to improve themselves. I mean, I like it when people work and not beg, and I'm inspired to help in that case.

I can relate to you. People who are running this forum are probably spending hundreds of dollars. I cannot start a forum like this one because I don't have that kind of money.

I am struggling to run my own forums, would I donate to someone else's forums, certainly not.

I can donate time as far as making posts. If I see some possible investment return than money is possible. Of course, I am not trying to be too cynical.

There needs to be something of strong value like professional journalism etc with no ads.

I think donating to a forum depends on how valuable the community and content are. If the forum provides useful information, builds meaningful discussions, or offers a unique niche, I’d consider donating to support its upkeep and growth.
