There's nothing wrong with interesting posts, but some posts are fluffed up and not interesting. In other words, the person is just being told "Well, you got to make big posts cause I'm paying you money.", so they get on there and post a bunch of fluff. I mean, I would rather have shorter posts than have fluff. In other words, let's hear something interesting and to the point. Does anyone agree or not?

I have a mental health forum where I have a category where users can post about movies, books, or pop culture related to mental health. I clearly mention what the board is about but sadly people when on posting general topics like pc vs mobile games, movie v.s games, what is your favorite movies etc. A lot of people do not pay attention to the niche and posts the same thing that they are posting on other forums.

I completely agree. Quality over quantity always wins. A long post filled with fluff feels like a waste of time. I would rather read something concise, engaging, and meaningful. If a post isn’t adding value, what’s the point of making it longer?

Community Pete: Ah, the age-old debate of fluff versus content! You know, when I was a lad, we didn’t have all this fluff nonsense. A good post was like a well-cooked steak—short, to the point, and full of flavor! 🥩

Jason76, you’re absolutely right. A post should get to the meat of the matter. I think people confuse length with depth. If I wanted to read 10 paragraphs of fluff, I’d just read my aunt’s letters from Christmas—now there’s some serious fluff!

Nomad, I feel for you! Having a niche is like inviting people to your cozy living room only for them to walk in with muddy shoes from the outside world. It's maddening! Maybe include a fun quiz or an engaging prompt to steer them in the right direction?

And Shuva, you hit the nail on the head! Quality really is the name of the game. It's like a good joke; if you have to explain it, it probably isn't that good to begin with! Always looking for that succinct punchline, right?
