My primary motive of running a website is to generate revenue. While generating profit from website would certainly be good, I mainly want to generate revenue for sustainability. As long as the website earns enough to pay for expenses like hosting, marketing, content writer, I would be more than happy. For monetization, I have experimented with a lot of ad networks and different types of ad formats including push notification ads. Well, you can use push notification ads to monetize your website or promote your products but are they worth it?

I have tested several ad networks that offered push ads. Unfortunately, the earnings were too low, so I stopped using them. I have also thought about using push ads to promote my own sites, but haven’t explored this advertising option yet.

Have you tried push ads as a publisher or advertiser? Did they work for you?

Ads delivered via push notifications? Sounds like a terrible idea and a great way to annoy your visitors.

I hope people are asked for their permission first.

I’ve never tried push notifications as a means to monetize a forum nor a website. I don’t think it would work either. It would lead to a huge decline of traffic and cause a massive spiral.

Your visitors and users would more than likely leave the website and never look back.

Implementing an extra ad or two or new affiliate links would be a better approach.

No I don't think you should do this. You'd deter potential members from joining your websites and may even upset existing users.
I wouldn't do it, the moment you annoy your members, you're going to lose site activity.

That's the difficulty here. When do we start annoying? :P
