neobb is a community-driven bulletin board focused on discussions around the Simple Web, Indie Web, and similar topics. Neobb is being developed with ruby on rails instead of php/mysql.

Pretty cool to see these new iterations of forums being built. Especially with those that are moving away from the php/mysql space.

Has anyone installed it for a test fdrive yet?

Gives me a retro vibe. I'm not disliking it... but that's pretty much it.

This looks great from the screenshots at least. It also seems that this one is actively being developed too since the last commit was made three days ago! Also cool to see another software branching out and using a different programming language instead of php. I will be keeping an eye out on this platform!
