So, what do you like about Christmas?

Let’s count down together. 🎄

My favourite time of year!
I'll enjoy that countdown more after November 6 (22 days) when I won't be subjected to so many political ads and nonsense that come across my feed every other post...

We've just had our last democratic voting last Sunday. Sadly, the term democratic isn't really democratic.

I am looking forward to pulling out our ugly Christmas sweaters and hitting up all the clubs as a family for their Christmas lunches and dinners over November and December though.

My God, time goes by so fast. Can't believe we're already half through October. Man...

I remember when I was a kid, my parents kepts telling me that as you get older, time goes faster. I'm 37...

Imagine being 90. Time must go by in an instant. An entire year must feel like 3 weeks or something. That's scary.

This year sure has flown by. I’ll be turning 35 next month.

I'll crop out and post! :-P

I have two or three ugly sweaters, but I only like one of them best because it's not too ugly but still fits the Christmas theme. The other two are just obnoxiously ugly and gaudy.

Damn, you reminded me. For every year now, but only after Halloween day for a few days to weeks, I've been wanting to order a costume. Not just any regular, in-the-pack, costume, though. Like, a realistic tailor-made original character or an Etsy-made one like this ($2600). It would pay for itself with all the contests I'd win with candy.

I stopped tracking after 35. Off the top of my head, I'm either 37 or 38.

So true. Ever since I got my first child, time does fly. It’s like I celebrated NYE yesterday and it’s almost that time again. Damn.

I miss what little I had with mine so much as I was in sales and then in warehousing as a full-time student to power through my bachelor's and MBA in 36 months (60-80 hour work weeks away from home), sometimes staying overnight at a hotel cause the drive home would've been too dangerous, until she was about 3 or 4.

Now, she's a bratty 13-year-old teen who just asked (asked is putting it lightly for a teenage girl) to get her hair straightened. And, of course, she got her way.

I've spoiled her since day 1, even though I wasn't present for the good times. I just hope that'll pay off when I'm older and in need.

Yeah they surely grow up too fast. Mine’s only 7 yet acts 17 sometimes. 🤣 make up, clothing, nails, the whole nine yards. Even talks about boys. 🫣 I’m not ready for that!

My wife was maturely like that at the age of 13, God help me…

I think this is commonly said by older people. I've heard it said countless times online and offline. Probably because the older you grow, the more busier you become. Time flies by fast when you stay busy.

I'm 34 and it does feel like we celebrated Christmas not long ago.

It's too early for Christmas talk. We haven't even had Thanksgiving yet.

I’m ready for some Turkey and ham!😉

When do you all put your Christmas tree up?

What?

When do you all put your Christmas tree up?

I hate decorating during holidays, so my father or brother usually set up the decorations as they don't mind as much. When the decorations go up is random. How things are going, I feel like the decorations might not even get put up this year, or there will only be the basics like a tree and stockings.

We don't do Christmas in our house. On the flip side this also means we don't have to wait for a specific time of year to buy each other presents - we just do so when we see something that we think they'd like.

Holder of controversial opinions, all of which my own.
