Posted October 15, 2024Oct 15 What are your primary go-to incentives for posting on your board? We have a shop where people can buy items for points they gain from posts, but in all the years it has been up barely anyone has used it.
October 15, 2024Oct 15 Moderators I introduced credit system on one of my forums where users could earn forum credits through posting. Idea was to create a marketplace where users could use their credits to buy digital products with real world value, for instance ebooks, digital course, social media templates, AI generated images, etc. But sadly I never introduced the marketplace. October 15, 2024Oct 15 Seeing as there isn't a credit system for Invisoin Community (yet) I use user group promotions! Which gives them more access to other parts of the community. Say you post 5 post, you will get access to our clubs so on and so forth
October 15, 2024Oct 15 Author Seeing as there isn't a credit system for Invisoin Community I assume they at least have it available as a plugin?
October 15, 2024Oct 15 Administrators I assume they at least have it available as a plugin? There is one:Â https://www.sosinvision.com.br/index.php?/file/155-eol-members-shop/Â But discontinued for v5:Â https://www.sosinvision.com.br/index.php?/forums/topic/2848-members-shop-and-related-apps-end-of-life/
October 15, 2024Oct 15 Author There is one: I was about to say, that would be weird if Jcink had a feature that IPB didn't have.
October 15, 2024Oct 15 Administrators I was about to say, that would be weird if Jcink had a feature that IPB didn't have. Well, unless someone takes over or develops a new one, v5 won't have it either sadly.

October 15, 2024Oct 15 Administrators Yes but it's not like dragonbytes plugin for xenForo No, that's correct. DragonByte's add on is far more extended in features. But it's easier to develop add ons for XF compared to Invision Community. And now that v5 is on the way, it's even less easy to develop applications, since hooks are gone in v5.
October 24, 2024Oct 24 I am thinking of adding a shop but I know that won't do much if people are not into movies or tv series (in my case). I am also thinking of making competitions, maybe that will give me an extra edge. Join us at https://www.webartzforum.com/

And honestly, apart from giving away some movie / tv series merchandise - I can't think of something else.
October 24, 2024Oct 24 It's rather a difficult niche to find incentives. And honestly, apart from giving away some movie / tv series merchandise - I can't think of something else. I tried plenty of forum ideas. I had gothic forum which had best activity but slowly died out for unknown reason to me. I had for witchcraft and that never lasted due to a very small group of people finding it interesting. Had forums about mysteries but that also has its limitation, how many mysteries are there? :D Tried few general forum ideas, worst concept ever. Still have one for academical things but never put any effort into it because very few people care about science on forums :D Really no idea what is the niche to go to :D Join us at https://www.webartzforum.com/

Where does your passion lay? Then it starts with an audience. Do you know people that would follow you in this niche? Do you have some expertise and experience to offer? Do you have some power users to help you kickstart your project? If not, it’s probably too soon to launch your project. But assume that you do, do you have a strategy for growth, and more importantly organic growth? Is there competition? What can you offer differently than your competition? What are you willing to invest (time/money)? These are some serious questions that help you forward in your community’s life and expectations.

Yeah, probably I didn't explore it in depth as you are pointing it out. A recipe for failure. Join us at https://www.webartzforum.com/
October 24, 2024Oct 24 Administrators Yeah, probably I didn't explore it in depth as you are pointing it out. A recipe for failure. Most don't. That doesn't mean there's no potential success. And honestly, success is only determined by you, not by someone else. Some are happy with just a few users and call it a success, while others expect to grow into a big board and then call it a success. In the end, you do what you enjoy and you don't let anyone tell you differently.

But active in terms with those who really like the nishe of the forum and not for exchange posts and stuff like that. Join us at https://www.webartzforum.com/

Right now, I'm focusing on building a loyal community of friends and networking as the incentive rather than a feature. Benefits over features. Forum Owner and Blogging Help Another Admin Forum
November 24, 2024Nov 24 Moderators On our forum we really want to give our members incentives to be active and post high quality content. Some ways that we are going to be doing this is by:  Recognition-based incentives such as custom titles, badges & medals. Another way will be through access-based incentives such as early access to new events, features or tools. Exclusive content/private forums/threads. Thirdly we would be giving our members tangible rewards such as points, credits, and giveaways. Fourthly, with gamification through achievement rewards & leveling system. We will also give incentives for posting with allowing members to influence our decisions that we make on the forum. Lastly, we will be hosting fun and engaging activities for members so they will want to post more and be more active. There are so many ways to help incentivize members to want to post, if done correctly it is a great way to keep members active and getting new members to sign up on the forum.
December 1, 2024Dec 1 Moderators I think enabling tips based system and rewarding the best poster can be a good idea to improve activities. If you give incentives to all poster, this can break your bank. Providing incentives to all posters will also make people post fr incentives, and it will bring in low quality posts. However, rewarding the best poster can increase those who create good content Admin Junkies * Sports Forum * ROFLMAO * Off Topicz * Is It Just Me? * Marketing Forums
