One that's defunct or just gone stagnant, or one that never got the love it deserved. What's one software you'd bring back if you could?

For me, I always wished OpenBB got more love than it did, it was a great product!

Zetaboards. Great memories, awesome community to be part of, many great designers and talented people.

Most definitely did. You could never recreate what they had. Such a great era to be in.

This would be my reply. ZetaBoards it where it all started for me and the community of people involved were amazing.

It was very disappointing when they merged with Tapatalk. Hopefully one day something similar-ish can come along again.

There is Icy Phoenix. It was an extremely modified phpBB with a built in CMS.

I used it a couple times and always found the support forum and team who worked on it really awesome.

Oh yeah, very much agreed!

I still have many licenses, I'm sure many do.

Just the two left for me, but I'd renew in a heartbeat for a 3.x revive...with good devs. Hell, I'd renew my wBB license if it wasn't so convoluted to use. Or UBB.Threads if it was being developed efficiently

Despite Vbulletin's challenges, there are potential solutions that could help revive the platform. By focusing on modernization, feature enhancements, and customer service improvements, Vbulletin could potentially regain its competitive edge and attract new users if they got certain Dev's back LOL. ;)

Therein lies the problem, getting those devs back and ditching the giant corporate overlords

We know they would let it sink first.

Oh definitely! They're not worried about letting that minute (by comparison) business sink.

If I could bring back one forum software from the past it would have to be Zetaboards. I can only imagine just how it would be now being that forum software has advanced as far as it has.

I would also love to see vBulletin make a comeback with something similar to vBulletin 3 but a little more updated, miss how vBulletin used to be.

I loved VB back in the day; however, I don't think that would ever make a comeback.

I don't know. Perhaps something better is yet to come.

Let the lost ones be the lost ones.

I still think Xenforo is #1 currently, with IPS just behind.
Do you use IPS?
I have IPS on a test site, I'm waiting for them to release V5 to see how it works.
What is the expected release date?

They were saying early this year, but who knows?
