October 24, 2024Oct 24 So. After some experiences with DigitalOcean, and PHP being weird, I have uploaded my forum onto the internet. codetana. I wanted to get a new domain for use with the forum, but I could not think of a name, so I used an old domain name I had lying around. I also didn't see any programming section (unless I am blind) so here it is. php/codeigniter/wordpress working on a forum script for fun and giggles.

October 25, 2024Oct 25 I've forgotten that a few times with my own communities. That's a big mistake a lot of administrators make, especially when they first open their forum. Having endless forums available, endless add-ons/scripts added, or having overly complex rules/guidelines. As they always say, it's best to start small and build your way up from there.

October 25, 2024Oct 25 Adding too many features at the beginning just overwhelms the user. Yeah, it's like when they expect you to read the entire TOS of sites that are endless paragraphs long. That's why barely anyone reads the TOS, because it's too cumbersome.
