October 4, 2024Oct 4 Inception. If you are making a movie for a 'highly intelligent' audience, then Inception is ok. But for a casual watcher who needs two hours of distraction? Inception is not. Also, Tenet for the same reason.

I tried watching the first film but got bored watching them walk around for hours. :P I love roleplaying games, and heck I probably would enjoy playing the video games based on the film. But I cannot get into the first film so I never bothered trying to watch the other ones.

I think I fell straight to sleep the last time I tried to watch one.

It is probably overrated, but it is still my favorite film of all time. The first film probably doesn't have as much action as the next two. There is more war and stunning visuals in the two films after The Fellowship of the Ring. I agree that there can be a lot of walking around, but I've always been in love with the visuals of the films, the overall storyline, and the characters.

I think the Godfather on its time, probably did consolidate the mafia movies and became a good blueprint for them, which is where the praise might come from. Nowadays that formula has been refine and used to the point where I am not surprised if it feels underwhelming. I watched it once, didn't love it, but then again, the genre might not me my jam. I am not sure what movie I felt overrated, but I know I have definitely felt underwhelmed after watching something I was expecting to be good. I think the Joker movie, in a way? It is not bad, it was what I expected, it just didn't feel like The Joker to me, just some guy... though, again, it could be the movie itself was not my cuppa so while I enjoyed it, I am not going to be rushing to watch it again any time soon.
