I think they're just bored, or they don't like the content on your forum for some reason. As for Xenforo, I know there's a good number of people that don't like the platform or staff, so I guess they want to mess with the site.

Boredom can sometimes cause you to do some crazy things.

I can understand being angry or upset with an individual or even a select group of people, but releasing that anger on an entire network is a bad way to go about expressing those feelings. It's like when people are bullied by a select few people in a school setting and they go and commit a mass shooting due to their anger towards those select few people.
