Google Search Console "Change of address" help

Since having a new domain for my forum, I'm having trouble with the "Change of address" page in Google Search Console...

First of all, I will admit that I have skipped to the second step regarding verifying the new domain and it was only yesterday that I noticed that I have to set-up 301 redirects from the old domain (for further explanation, this includes 178 pages I have indexed). I've been trying to look ways to do this via here, but I cannot find the best way to do it from there. Right now though, I've made use of a URL redirect code which takes anybody that tries to access the forum with the old domain (which was "mindsconnect.jcink.net") to the new one but of course that's not really the solution, unless I get Googlebot to index some of the pages again. I believe this might be the solution here but then I would have to do the same for another 299, and I know there's a limit on how many you can have indexed per day (I think it's 10 or something?).

Any further assistance with this, so that I can finally verify the forum under its new domain.

As far as I'm aware, a 301 redirect needs to be set up on the server-side end of the spectrum, and since Jcink doesn't have that access, I don't believe it's possible. When I purchased a new domain for my site, I just restarted the search console process with the new domain.

You know, I was thinking of that myself. I'll give it a shot later on...
You can also set up a client side meta redirect, but it’s not the same as a server side 301. It doesn’t pass over the same value of a server side 301.

But it will still point your old domain to the new one.

<meta http-equiv="refresh" content="0; url=https://newsite.com">

The meta code needs to be placed in your main file.

You mean the HTML file that I can upload to my forum? If so, I cannot, as Jcink doesn't support HTML files being uploaded. I can put this in the forum's Board Wrappers if that's okay.

And by the way, I do pardon my ignorance regarding "301" redirects... I completely forgot that it's code 301, not actually 301 as the number of URLs I had to redirect Forgive me 😅
