Getting flagged as AI even though it is 100% human written
That's exactly the problem; they aren't able to tell the difference and it's getting some writers in trouble.

Getting flagged as AI even though it is 100% human written
That's the scary part is that eventually and sooner than I'd like, we won't be able to the difference between AI and human writing. It'll be more difficult for writers to get jobs and paid. So sad. That is a very true thought and statement, the switch is definitely enabled and learning more and more each and every time we use AI. It's scary that it's getting almost impossible to detect whether or not a human or AI wrote it. It is definitely frustrating in a writer's aspect, how are we supposed to get work and paid if AI can just do it for us. Things are getting scary and though I do enjoy sometimes using AI to see what comes up I find it scary that it can write like me or figure out my personality and writing style so it can write like I would.

Glitchfeed.net - a case study
I love the passion and honesty in your post. I can tell this is something you've thought about for a while and it's amazing that you're taking the leap and bringing GlitchFeed to life, especially seeing as though forums really have to fight for attention. It's really inspiring. =) I'll be totally real with you, I'm not big in gaming or tech, I mean I play Mario Kart & Mario Party on the N64 every once in a while, but other than that I'm not really gaming, so this isn't really my niche. However, I do love forums, and I love seeing people build something from the ground up, and I especially love when people can create spaces around the things they are passionate about. The 3-section approach makes a lot of sense and I think it helps give it personality without boxing it in too much. Plus, I think your plan to seed content going before launch is such a smart move as the early groundwork really makes a difference. I'm actually really excited to see how this develops, and I'll definitely be following your updates. Even though I may not have the most relevant feedback on tech stuff I am definitely cheering you on! Excited to see where this goes

Money Saving
My boyfriend and I have a budged and we really stick to it. In the budget we have saving plans for emergency funds, retirement funds, rainy day funds, wedding fund, kids funds etc. Every time either of us get paid we get out our budget and see where the money will go. Don't get me wrong, we also have some money budgeted for fun, gifts etc. however we do have more in savings than we do for fun. The reason for that is because when we decide to have kids we want to be able to do things with the kids such as travel, go on vacation etc. We also want to be make sure that if our kids want to join a sport or extracurricular activity we can afford it. I never was able to do any sports or extracurricular activities because my parents just couldn't be bothered and honestly, I really wish I had done something after school. So, for me it is extremely important to be able to give that to my kids if they so choose to. I used to be a spender and lived paycheck to paycheck and it really didn't bother me at the time. I grew up with a lot of death, depression and sadness around me so I lived like I wouldn't really live to my 30s. Though I never got into any heavy drugs (just marijuana and very little and not often at all.) I would make silly decisions because I never really thought I'd make it to see my 30th birthday. Now I'm 32 and I really wish I would have planned things differently. I didn't get myself in debt which I'm very proud and happy about but I also had no savings either. My mindset changed when I met my boyfriend and we would talk about our futwure and what kind of lifestyle we would want. Neither of us want to be rich in the sense of need expensive things or go on expensive trips to feel rich in life. At first it was difficult for me to change my habits but what I ended up doing was writing what was important to me on a piece of paper and I stuck in on my debit card so every time I went to go pay for something I would see what I would potentially be missing out on because of my impulse buys or unnecessary purchases. This helped me a lot because it was a visual and I'm a visual person. Now I tend to think about my future more than I think of the now and so I find it much easier to save when I know what I'm saving for and why. I'm excited to see how other people are at saving money and what tips and tricks work for them.

Getting flagged as AI even though it is 100% human written
I'm not going to lie, I've used AI in the past to help me write content. I've written in an idea and what I would write and would ask to spice it up and make it sound more professional. Sometimes my writing can seem a little all over the place or backwards (I am French first) and so sometimes AI had helped me make my posts seem easier to follow and understand. However, now I've been writing things 100% myself and not using AI at all but it still comes back as AI written. I am so discouraged and frustrated because I do work really hard on my posts and make sure I write high-quality, value adding threads/posts and it STILL comes back as AI written even though it definitely isn't. Is anyone else having this issue? Does anyone know how to rectify this issue? I've seen that on Reddit there are other people who struggle with this issue but there haven't been any posts explaining how to get it so it comes back as human written and not AI written. If anyone has some tips or tricks I would definitely love to hear it! Thanks!

Hey hey! 👋 Okay, first of all — A+ entrance. Dramatic flair, RPG references, anime love and some self-aware forum humour? You’re definitely among kindred spirits here. It’s awesome to have another creative mind in the mix, especially one who appreciates the magic of Play-by-Post (a sadly underrated art form these days!). I’m also loving the honesty about the “dead horse” revival mission, you are absolutely not alone in that, and honestly, that's part of what makes communities like this so special. We're all in this weird, wonderful forum world together, trying to keep the torches lit. Can’t wait to see what threads catch your eye and feel free to drop a link to your forum when it feels right. We’ve got space for passion projects here, no matter how many resurrections they’ve gone through. And noted: you like anime. Duly filed under “important facts.” Welcome aboard!

Hey there! 👋 Welcome (back?) to the world of forums and this little corner of it! Your intro definitely brought a smile; I think a lot of us know exactly that feeling. The internet may have changed a lot in 20 years, but it’s always cool when familiar names and faces pop back up in these spaces. Even if it’s a short visit, we’re happy to have you here. Hope you find some new inspiration (or just some good convos) while you’re around. And hey, if you do vanish for 2 years again, we’ll leave the light on. Looking forward to seeing you around!

Internet forums are disappearing because now it's all Reddit and Discord. And that's worrying.
Thank you for sharing such a well-thought-out post. It’s a topic that’s been on my mind quite a bit, especially as someone who’s passionate about fostering meaningful online communities. It’s true; forums were once the heart of the internet’s social landscape. There was something genuinely special about how they brought people together around shared interests, with organized conversations that could span years and become valuable resources in their own right. While social platforms like Reddit, Discord, and Facebook groups have definitely changed the game, I don’t believe they’ve replaced the soul of what forums offer. Real-time chats and algorithm-driven feeds have their appeal, but they often lack the structure, depth, and searchability that forums naturally provide. The fleeting nature of Discord conversations and the ever-shifting visibility on Facebook make it hard for meaningful dialogue to stick around, let alone be discovered later. Forums, on the other hand, are digital homes intentionally crafted spaces where every topic has its place. They make it easy to revisit conversations, build archives of knowledge, and create a culture that isn’t driven by trends but by genuine connection. As someone active in forum promotion and management, I’ve seen firsthand how vibrant and resilient these spaces still are, especially when backed by passionate, involved communities. Yes, the landscape has shifted but I don't think that means forums are obsolete. In fact, I’d argue that they’re more important than ever. They offer an alternative to the fast-paced, ad-heavy, and sometimes chaotic nature of modern platforms. They allow us to slow down, engage meaningfully, and actually build something together. So, while platforms like Reddit and Discord have certainly carved out their own space, I truly believe forums still have a future especially when we continue to innovate, adapt, and champion the value they bring.

Forums aren't as addictive as Social Media
Great points brought up here! It’s true that forums don’t have the same instant gratification features that social media platforms offer, especially with the focus on likes, shares, and followers. The "dopamine rush" that social media gives is hard to compete with, especially for younger generations who have grown up with that validation system. However, I think forums still have a unique value that sets them apart from social media. Forums offer a more focused, in-depth space for discussion, where people can really engage with ideas and build long-term connections. The "quiet" aspect is actually one of their strengths as it allows for more thoughtful exchanges that social media can’t always provide. While it may not have the same instant rewards, the satisfaction of meaningful discussions and community-building can be just as fulfilling, if not more so. To stay relevant, forums might need to adapt in certain ways. That doesn’t necessarily mean copying the social media model but finding ways to engage users in a more dynamic, rewarding manner. Gamification, as you mentioned, could be a part of that so adding elements like badges, leaderboards, or challenges could incentivize participation in a more meaningful way. Ultimately, forums don’t need to compete with social media at its own game. The goal should be to highlight what makes forums unique which is the depth of conversation and community and find ways to build upon that to attract younger generations. They may not provide the same instant rewards, but the value of engaging in a space that fosters thoughtful discussion could be the key to their continued relevance.
