How can a mentor help your community?
I think this is a fantastic idea and if done correctly could be a game changer for forums and communities. Some people are shy and don't always just want to just jump in and post or start a conversation but if there was a mentor to help those people feel more "at home" sort of speak I think it could really pay off. There are a LOT of people who join and never post and maybe it's because they are too intimidated and don't know where or even how to start, but maybe with a mentor who is making them feel more welcomed and wanting to build a genuine connection (key word being genuine) they would come more out of their shell and feel more safe posting. It would also help the mentor know what posts/threads would be more appealing and interesting to that particular member so they could recommend such threads. I think having a mentor could also be beneficial when there is a forum update. It's good to check in with members to know if they are up to date with what is going on with the forum and what they can expect in the next little bit. We also want to make sure that our members understand clearly what those changes are and if they have any concerns or comments about the changes. Members want to feel like they are a part of something, and they also want to feel like what they say matters to us as forum owners. So having a mentor that would reach out and give the members a little "what to look forward to" or updates it would give the member a chance to voice what they think of things and if there is anything that we (the community owner or staff) can do that this is the safe place to do so. These little updates messages would also be a fantastic time to include posts or threads that you think this particular member would be interested in and express that you look forward to reading their replies. etc. Having a mentor who would send out "Happy Birthday" wishes as well with a link to their "Happy Birthday" post would be awesome to add too. I think that mentors needs to be VERY very dedicated members who ARE going to be proactive and send out messages to their designated members. I think that the forum should have more than 1 mentor and have a good members to mentor ratio so that the mentor isn't too overwhelmed or is overflowing with messages to keep up with while also staying active in the forum. I think it's crucial that a mentor be active on the forum because we want members to feel a familiarity to these mentors and also get to know these mentors over time from posts, replies and threads. Ultimately, I think that if you can come up with a strong team of mentors it is definitely worth it and could have a very positive impact on the forum/community and even on the stats. It will also improve the amount of members that have a post count on the forum. Though I think if you don't pick the right people and mentors for this it could be disastrous and have a horrible impact and outcome. Loved this idea of a mentor! ❤️

Best starter topics on a new forum?
Great topics that will help build your forum will be topics that. 1. Has to do with your forum theme/topic. If your forum is about cars but you're posting about Barbies no one will care. 2. That will ask open-ended questions so others will want to reply and be encouraged to add to the post. Don't just "tell" people information. Ask them about their advice or experience so they feel like what they have to say matters and is wanted. 3. Topics that will pique interest and conversation. If you're rude or demeaning members may not want to reply or be a part of the community. If you're friendly, fun and encouraging members will want to be around and will in turn want to be a part of the discussion. 4. It should encourage thought and reflection. If the post doesn't add anything to their lives or if it doesn't appeal to them, they won't be likely to reply or post. 5. The topics should be topics you'd also want to encourage your members to want to post and create threads about. If you just post a thread topic that has 5 words and a question it may not get as many replies as a post that you put more time and effort in. That being said if the post is too long and doesn't flow well it can have the opposite effect, and people may not want to reply or even read through it. Instead write a post that will engage members and be a model post to what you'd want your members to post like. Check for spelling and punctuation, you want it to look professional and easy to read. Knot sometin dat peepole hav 2 rlly thinck n gess wat u r saiing. Ultimately, the topics that will help build your community will be post that are relevant to what your forum is about, and people will want to discuss. Posts that encourage replies and discussion and posts that are reflecting what type of posts you expect of your members. A great new community post is "What do you think of our forum?" It's amazing to get feedback, especially when you are starting out and thee community is new. Yes you may get a lot of "The forum isn't as active as I'd like" or "there aren't as many members as I was expecting" and those are things you can work on and can come in time. But sometimes, even if you are a pro at making and creating forums/communities you may have missed a few key features or overlooked something that a new member with fresh eyes to the forum will see. Plus it's always good to get feedback and have goals as to "where do we go from here? What do we want the forum to look like in a year, two years, etc." Those are my opinions on how you can help build your forum at the early stages of the community. Hope you enjoyed =)

Becoming a leader who builds engaging communities
I agree with what you wrote. A leader is supposed to lead and show by example. They also should be involved and want to get others involved. If the members/clients aren't involved they will lose motivation and their goals may not be clear. A leader needs to give their attention to those who are choosing to visit and follow up with them. To me a great leader who builds engaging communities interacts and has discussions with ALL members. Whether it be them welcoming the new member to the forum/website or them replying to the "Welcome" post the new member posted. When members feel important and seen they tend to reply, post and want to be apart of the community more. It's important that the leader takes the time to reply and stay in touch with the members and those who spend the time on the forum. When members feel like what they are saying/posting is being seen/heard they will post more and want to be more involved. If they feel like what they are posting is going unseen and unheard then they lose motivation and ultimately stop checking in and logging on. A great leader has LOTS of responsibilities but enjoys the responsibilities because they know that their hard work and dedication will be repaid by dedicated members and an active community. Ultimately it is up to the leader/owner to create a welcoming and exciting community where members will want to spend their time & energy.

Forum Management Services
Amazing service! Just a few questions that may be helpful for potential hiring individuals. Are there any forums/websites in particular that you would prefer to work on or themes that really intrigue and interest you? Are there any themes that you may struggle with or find difficult to complete these services? I think your services seem to be more than fair and helpful for forum owners or website owners, I just was curious what forums/themes are your strong points and which ones you may not be able to help as much. Thank you! I hope you get some interest in your services =)

How Active is Your forum’s Staff?
1) In my opinion, it is incredibly important for staff to stay active and be consistent because you want your staff to set a good example of what you want your ideal member to be like and the kind of activity you'd like your forum to have on a daily basis. 2. I think warmly welcoming new members can have an amazing impact cause members will see that the staff is not only active but care that they have a new member. Plus, it lets the new member know that if they have any questions or concerns the team is there and available for them. To add, everyone likes to feel welcomed and accepted so it's important to welcome newcomers and let them know that you appreciate that they chose to sign up to your forum or website. 3. I think staff should log on every day or every other day. Of course there are some exceptions such as vacations, or if the staff member needs to take some time off. Though I do believe that it is important to keep your members updated and let them know when a staff has vacation days or is taking some time away, so members aren't sending the staff member a message waiting for them to reply. Plus, members LOVE to be updated and stay in the loop with what's going on so it's always nice to know who's going to be around or not going to be around for the next little bit. If a staff member isn't going to be on for a day or two then it isn't as important to let the members know but if the staff member is going to be gone for more than 4 days, I think it's important for members to be aware. 4. I think you should have a team leader who is in charge of making sure the other staff members are staying on track and are being active. However, it is ultimately up to the administrator and/or owner to make sure everything is running smoothly, and staff are stepping up. I like to think of a forum kind of like a restaurant or a small business. You have the owner who is ultimately in charge of everyone and everything but then you have management to help you keep things running and keep members in line. You can have different stages of management (like a manager for the staff and managers for clients/members/ etc.) I think the administrator/owner should be in touch with all of the staff on a regular basis not only so they can work out any issues but also so that staff know that they have the support of the admin/owner. It will also help keep the staff motivated and wanting to be involved. 5. It is important to reward staff based on their activity levels because it will encourage the other staff members to be as active and as involved. We don't want to give out participation trophies but rather reward the ones that are making a difference and working hard. If you reward staff members who aren't active or who don't make an attempt, then you aren't really encouraging them to do better or to make better choices. 6. I currently don't have a forum and though I do have my own small business as a makeup artist I do not have any other staff so I can't really rank anyone else's current level of activity. Though, when I had a forum years ago, I must say I was blessed with staff who were active and wanted to be a part of the community so I never needed to remind them to post or be active. This post is long, but I wanted to give reasons as to why I would expect what I would in a staff member. Thank you for reading! ❤️

Favorite methods of growing your community
What has worked well for me in the past is promoting my forum on billboards around the city as well as advertise through other small businesses. It worked really well because it matched the type of people I wanted to reach. Though, I think sometimes signatures and posting on other sites may help. Though I do feel like when you are posting on other forums you are competing with many other forums/people for active members where as when I would advertise in real life and with other small businesses most people didn't have other forums they would post on so I didn't feel like there was as much competition.

Creating fake members to jumpstart community: yay or nay?
I see people make this critical mistake ALL the time. And yes, it is a mistake. You want your forum/website to be genuine and members can smell when there is something fishy going on. Creating multiple accounts to try to make your forum look more popular or boost their stats is not the right way to go. You won't be able to continue to log into all of these accounts and keep making content and so even though it may change the stats for now, it isn't a real statistic nor will member trust any kind of data that you give them. Even if your forum is slow and not very active it's best to just keep to one account and post on that account. Of course everyone wants an active forum with lots of growth but not only does that take time, dedication and planning it takes real other members not just the illusion of many members. Plus members will get irritated if they quote or reply to other members and never get any replies back. All around this is just a bad idea and it isn't being genuine. I have only seen this type of thing work once and that's because the person literally suffered from multiple personality disorder so they would have a different account for each personality. Yes, it is still kind of being ingenuine BUT the person had a sticky post and explained that they are all the same person, just different personalities. It worked for the site but I wouldn't encourage it nor would I say it's a good idea. It's much easier to just stick to an account and keep the forum genuine because you want your members and staff to be able to trust you and the statistics to be real not just random numbers that mean nothing.

Hello there from Canada Eh!
Why hello there! I am InMyOpinon or Ashley and I have FINALLY decided to join this forum. It's something that I've wanted to do for a bit now but life got busy and well anyways here I am =) Though I no longer own any forums myself, there was a time when I was younger when I was a forum owner and manager so I feel like I can still be of help and take part in discussions on this forum. Anyways, I look forward to getting to know the members and to be a part of Administrata, hope to see you around! Cheers!

What little things make you happy?
What are your favourite genres of books? I love this post and question because it makes us reflect on what truly brings us joy and happiness. For me I would say anything about growth or achievements. People don't usually talk about their achievements and/or growth as a person and I love when people are genuinely doing good in life and are trying to do better and/or learn. So for me, that would be my answer. =)

Will you be dressing up for Halloween this year?
Oh Chucky would be such a good Halloween costume! I haven't dressed up in a few years, but I might this year. I don't want to spend too much on a costume, but I think it would be fun to give out candy while dressed up. I know my boyfriend's friends were talking about having a Halloween party, but we aren't sure if we are feeling up to a party this year or if we just want to give out candy and have a relaxing time. I used to LOVE getting dressed up but now I'm just kind of blah about it.

Do you have a gaming computer
I myself do not have a gaming laptop. I have an HP laptop and it works well for me. I don't do much gaming at all and the types of games I play don't need a lot of processing power.

What can mess up a friendship for you?
What can mess up a friendship with me is lying to me or using me. By using me I don't mean calling me and asking me for help, money etc. what I mean is that you're only in this friendship because you to use me for resources etc. If you want to genuinely be my friend because you enjoy my personality then that's one thing, but if you're whole intention is just to use me for things then to me there is no reason to communicate with you. I can help you grow as person and I understand no one is perfect, but there are genuine people and then there are users. I'm not into the users & abusers.

How are you feeling today?
I have been sick the past few days and today I am still sick with a stuffy nose, sore throat and cough/sneezing. Hopefully tomorrow will be better, yesterday I got a max of 2 hours of sleep due to my clogged nose. I even took medication for it and it didn't work, so here's to hoping tomorrow will be better.

What's your favorite social media platform?
I tend to use Facebook more than any other social media platform. It's where most of my friends and I communicate other than texting.
