1. They got bots for that too.
2. Yeah,... word on the grapevine is social websites will soon no longer want or need human members.

I just couldn't be happy with my header. The image in the background I like, but I was not happy with the text. I changed the font of the header text to Courier to give it more of a top secret styling. But because I use a flavor of red in the title, it looked washed out to the background. So I added some shadow to the text to give it some contrast against the background. Totally changed how it looks to me now. I like it.
4. Too new for me to have back-data, but I have deployed Cloudflare, Google Analytics, Google Dashboard, coupled to XF stats to give me a broad spectrum of data to consider. I suppose that's a start and have used them before. And I agree fdk that guest > member > posting member conversion rate will at least tell you your signups registered with something already to say. I think that suggests you are hitting your target market correctly.

I thought so too, so when do I get a key to the beer cooler!
6. It depends on the person/situation, but I won't let it hang out like dirty laundry.
7. Honestly I don't like doing either. I dont like locking, for the same reasons above. It just comes across as juvenile when the poster was not aware of the original thread. And merging can potentially cause context breakage in a thread, and inadvertently add unecessary redundancy or confusion.
8. Whether free hosting/software or paid, your investment will be many hours of your days.

Made my 100th post on New Years eve. But that was before I knew it, so this is the 101th.

Yeah, actually good idea. But i am currently using fontawesome icons. If I were to convert to an image icon, I would like that.

Happy new years everyone here at Administrata. Thank you staff and the site operators and all the members that make my stay enjoyable. May 2025 offer you the best.
12. My forum 2025 goals are to focus all year on content and community building on my new forum. I look forward to 2025.
13. Had to add, domain flippers spend most of their time trying to weasel domains from owners with rediculous lowball offers. That's the only way to make a profit off of flips anymore. And eventually someone is left holding the bag until another lowball offer comes in. I have always only sold to end users. It does take longer though.
14. Domain flipping nowadays is like flipping condos in Florida nowadays. Nobody is buying. Ten years ago it was easy money.
15. It becomes rather obvious when you get a reply as fast as it takes your post to render for you.
16. I just did. Thank you. Today is exactly one month since this instance of software was installed.

This thread is for the general discussion of the item CLASSIFIED: TOP SECRET. Please add to the discussion here.

Now, if we can just keep Elon from buying it in the name of truthfulness.
19. No, but I've killed a couple. 😉 Seriously though, no, I never have, but I am certain it has to be quite difficult to rebuild a culture and community.
20. Cedric I only just now realized,... Should this thread be moved to Community Showcase using the Project prefix? I learn more about this site browsing around and sometimes discover things lol.

I've won a few hundred but I really don't play a whole lot. But when I play scratchers, one way to better your odds if you can, is to get a printout of remaining prizes for active scratcher games, when you first walk in. Avoid the games where most of the wins are claimed already, and play the ones that still have tons to win. You don't want to buy a ticket from a stale game that is almost over.

Statistics suggest you will be hit by lightning 3 times before you win the lottery odds. So yes, I play scratchers and draws, 🤪
23. I prefer to avoid bots, autoresponders, llm generators, etc. I wish to cater to humans. (the irony of my site lol)
24. Most new forums really have no revenue sources and so marketing and advertising budgets are terms not commonly used by the admins. Your best investment into marketing for a new website is investing time into relevent content creation with a focus on targeting placement on the SERPs with attractive relevent titles. When you get a decent organic user base that can support marketing is when you could be buying ads etc.
25. Sometimes forums lose their purpose as they grow and try to accommodate everyone's topical interests in the flight to capture more traffic.
