Something I am studying so I can test out all 3 tests for my license. Also picked up a cheap ham 7 band 10 watt walkie talkie pair on Amazon. (I know I will start cheap and grow into it if needed) Anybody else here into this?
  2. There is a subject, one which I would be the SME, and it has profit potentials. But it just felt like work after a short while and I just didn't really enjoy it.
  3. I dont want to compare myself to any socially engineered media website. And by engineered I mean even the bots know your profile and preferences. Now i am barely 2 months old so I can in no way have any complaint or concern of my registration rate. I just hope to provide an environment that is cleaner, easier, and better moderated than the top social sites. But it is hard to top the emotional impact 1000 likes on twitterx or facebook may give the average poster. They have all the psychology figured out. So my regs will likely come from more organic sources and likely from a peoples that has tired of the social media malarkey that goes on any more. (I love using that word lol)
  4. Name one monopolistic breakup that was successful for the fragments. I cant think of one.
  5. I have no use for twitter.
  6. Now I know you are going to say "of course we are friendly and welcome everyone". But that is a function of community. This would apply differently to different subjects and forum community styles and standards. A better way to explain it,.... a totally green organic visitor accidentally lands on your site with no prior knowledge of your site. How does it appear to the viewer. Is is visually inviting? Does it provide easy things to click on? I know that for my recent forum it has a vibe that may be a bit standoffish to some visitors who may not be comfortable with the subject, and of course my styling was designed to add a bit of theme based fun to it without getting cartoonish. I imagine I will turn off some people just with my forum name present in the url, but I expect to intrigue a few visitors also with that same effect. Based on your site... have you looked at it with green eyes of a new visitor? Its all subjective, but I am curious.
  7. I am testing it out now. I setup on my Cloudflare > security > WAF > Custom Rules page, a AI Scrapers and Crawlers rule. Supposedly it operates as described similar to country blocking rules. Anyone else have any experience with Cloudflare custom rules?
  8. I do not have 'restrictions' so to speak, but a promoted member group after x number of posts that gets some extras like profile banners etc.
  9. When I get appreciative feedback from a member, is all I need now and then.

Currently sitting in the dentist chair... 😧
  11. It has been almost 60 days since inception, and my google results are about 500 pages spidered with about half of them fully indexed. I am starting to see about a click thru a day now from the SERPS.

Yeah that was a bust in my opinion lol. I am trying out using a catch phrase as my subtitle instead of the site descriptor. Not sure yet but I think I prefer the catch phrase. After all the site genre' is pretty obvious on first view on its own.
  13. Yeah I mean it could be. Probably not. If its a scrape it won't last too long. But certainly you haven't suffered any financial or ip losses to back up any supposed crime. You would have to prove copyright violation and/or trademark dilution. But it ain't easy. But it's always smart to look for those things.
  14. Having had to work with the public before, I learned its just best if you didn't overall.

Updated my Better Analytics yesterday and it totally frapped my analytics properties settings. Rebuilt that this morning. Ya know, I might of struck while the iron was getting warm. I watched that hearing last November and it interested me enough to plant the seeds about my site. Now, we have drone-like UAPs flying around anywhere they want to, we have a new whistleblower coming out in a few day with what I understand is "Rock Solid" evidence from a high military official, and Dr. Greer vlogging that "in a few days...". Plus quite a bit of news coverage of a variety of related subjects. A lot going on right now. I need Google and Bing to get me out there and up front lol.
  16. $65USD/mo for 1gu/1gd fiber. (off network speed tests put me around 500-600 Mb/s up and down typically though). Just the connection. No bennies. Basic fiber. But it is fast.
  17. I have a themed default avatar for members without one. But if a new member becomes sticky they tend to want something unique inevitably anyway. But I don't push it. I just make sure it's easy to change.
  18. I've been playing a lot of music in the background on you tube today and I found this timeless classic. Do you recognize the girl?
  19. Getting a loan for business is like paying out on a schedule a portion of your net profits. You don't really want to get stuck in that cycle. I feel a business loan for capital equipment or against your receipts is common in business. But I wouldn't borrow to support myself while the business is starting. That's what second jobs are for.

Ahhh the ol' facebook thing. Yes I guess nobody read their eula agreement at Facebook. Their AI already knows you well enough now that you can do niks and anons, its already widely understood that Facebook is highly intrusive on your privacy, and the only ones who may even have a right to complain are the humans that use it. How did Jobs put it?... If its free on the internet, then you are the product.
  22. I currently am just myself. Admin/moderator duties. I have a part-time mod, but honestly I know there may become a time where I have to fully delegate mod duties out to dedicated staff. But as new as my site currently is, I can see that need may be awhile.

Adding a couple snippets to extra.less to add some minor css dynamics to forumlist, threadlist, and post page. Trying to add some dynamic flash. Trying to keep it minimal and not out of hand lol.
