I am uncertain if gaming up a website is always beneficial. I have tried it on a couple forums, and in my case, it wasn't hardly used by many. Currently I have added to my new website some things that are maybe entertaining, a couple of hidden in plain sight Easter eggs just for fun as well as making sure their is room for fun or entertainment. But those are just for those that are inclined to not be so serious from time to time.

Should I make the posts first to be eligible? Or does this post work to confirm and I just continue. Either way, I posted. Didn't I. :alien:

And sometimes a visitor maybe turned member would show up from a relevent Google link to their search and may wish to respond to just that. Capture a guest, don't turn him away.

I honestly feel it is an overbearing rule that really doesn't make the poster feel welcome when he is told not to do that.

Almost three months. Since the topic of this thread directly related to my startup, I though another update was useful. Just fyi, I have made no seo adjustments and only using the stock XF seo features. Currently as reported by Google Search Console, 134 waiting to be indexed, a few other various reasons, but I have 317 indexed pages with 501 queued for index for a total of 818 pages. I do note pages blocked by robots.txt etc that are expected. So far so good with no declines in indexing. I know I still dont rank very well in the serps but that may take time.

I liked cPanel used with phpMyAdmin for the DB. But I rent now so,...

I kinda have an adrenaline addiction. I wont list them. Danger fun was a thing for me for awhile. Not so much now. 🤪

Wife and I were out comet watching, a few people were there too. A guy walks up to me and asks "are you Mexican? I mean, your darker". I was shocked stunned speechless. I didn't know how to respond, as a plain white person with maybe a slight tan. I was completely offended that those words came out of his mouth. People are so racist anymore.

Most of my time is spent dealing with life crap, BUT,... 1. my site 2. here 3. xf 4. any other forum i may randomly browse without signing up. I dont do x, fb, or most all flavors of "social media".

I know I am small taters, but cloudflare does a really good job of blocking out llm bots including chatgtp.

I have had other forums and my interest may have been hit and miss. But my father, who we shared similar interest in the subject that I have put forth on my recent build, was stationed at RAAF in 47/48. After his recent passing I have enjoyed looking at some documents and pictures of cool aircraft and things at the time that he has kept. The spark for a forum came to me after watching the latest UFO hearings. I have enjoyed building it, likely not ever going to be monetized as it isn't needed, is a personal hobby. But I would enjoy members to share with and hear their shares and thoughts.

The things I have learned and performed on my own for SEO, well, I have found many ways to reduce my exposure lol. So no more tweaking by me lol.

While content remains king, (partly for seo purposes), design is exceptionally important. I believe design should reflect the style of content and target market. It is an artistic adventure. We have all visited forums where you look at it from esthetics, and it becomes hard to figure out what the forum is for. And sometimes its just a mess. But personally (and I am no pro at it), I like to logoff and browse my site like a guest just looking at it. I can gain a better picture of how most all site visitors see, as just guests. And I do like to go thru and perform slicing off clutter and unneeded redundant links that are everywhere. Guest traffic should have easy pointful navigation without having to wonder around the site by hitting links guests dont care about. I give members the full experience of course. Thats why I also like to surf other forums. To see if I get their look and feel.

They are magnitudes worse than just "antics".

I had just had surgery and couldn't walk for months. Was bored and started thinking about forums and was clicking around just to see what everyone else was doing with their forums. I was surfing thru the XF showcase forum looking at the handiworks, and for some reason clicked on administrata. I found the content was attractive and some good reads on the subject matter and it sparked my interest in thinking about a forum again. So I joined. Glad I did. I like this place.

Torn this morning over thinking of starting my day with or .... But this is more where I am at atm.

One last piece, I do not have avast chrome browser extension installed. Don't know if it matters.

I have thought of a dozen sites i would enjoy and enjoy making. That said; time, energy, funding, suggests I need to focus on just one interest anyway. I am good with that.

I found the event log for yesterday, and it seems the favicon was flagged, todays just lists the domain.
