Always, ever since I was a teen staying up way too late during summer vacation. I couldn't have my TV too loud otherwise it'd wake my parents so I used subtitles instead :P

Making skins/themes for my old Walking Dead forum was so much fun. I always tried to make them dark and grungy, with references to the comics, shows, characters etc. I still had lighter options available but they were still heavily themed, always! I think niche forums like that should lean into their genre when they can, but it's not always easy either.

Starset - Echo

My cousins' old house was 100% haunted and I could tell soo many creepy stories. Their house was somewhat small, but tall; so it had three levels - the very top level was just their two bedrooms (and there was a fairly steep staircase up to them), the middle was the family/kitchen/bathroom/parents room, the basement was laundry and a bigger space that was their play area/where we'd sleep during sleepovers. One night after using the bathroom I happened to glance up the stairs towards their bedroom and I shit you not I saw a ghostly ankle and a flowy white dress go into one of their rooms. I BOLT down the stairs to the basement to tell them, and before I can get it out my one cousin says; "Did you see the girl in the white dress?!"; the cousin whose room the girl went into. Apparently she'd seen/heard her on numerous occasions. I was soooo relieved when they finally moved 🤣

I was trying to find information on a game I was playing (Harvest Moon), and the website I found had a community forum attached to it. Been on 'em ever since :P

I've always loved working on niche/themed skins so if you want to pass along some more info I can give it a try :D No obligations, I can just play around with ideas, give you a preview (I usually start with the category design) and if you like it we can go from there :)
