WoltLab Suite Discussion
I always thought the admin panel was a little cartoonish. It had a weird feel and look to it. Unlike other software which looks more professional. Maybe it's me. It did work well. Everything in the admin was well organized. The look was off.

WoltLab Suite Discussion
I bought a license when I had Admin Talk. I would install forum software so the users could play around with it. Sort of try before you buy. I had Burning Board and all the modules installed. Most that asked for admin access liked it. Some said it wasn't easy to work with. Others said it was too easy. I had a site on it for a while. Never got much more into it. It is good.

Admin Wins and Woes: What’s Your Most Memorable Moment?
The day my first forum hit 1 million threads. Not posts, threads. The staff had a countdown like they did when we hit 1 million posts. There were some friendly wagering on who might start that thread. We had a a few users that seemed to always need help. We figured one of them would be the one. As it turned out it was a total newbie. Signed up and started the thread. It was the single most thing the gave me the most joy in all my years as an admin or owner of a forum. never duplicated it. Had a few multimillion post communities. Never a million threads.

Hi I'm Malcolm
Hello Malcolm. Good to meet you.

Are smaller communities better than larger online communties?
Smaller is usually better. A small group of talkative people can fill up a community in no time at all. Seen it happen.

Hello everyone
Welcome aboard. I used to run a porn site password exchange site back in the day. It's closed now after it changed hands multiple times.

The lack of feedback, and whether it is appropriate
I'm pretty sure I know the site in question. In all honesty the site deserves it. The staff. No way. That's if the site and the staff are who I think they are.
-
The lack of feedback, and whether it is appropriate
You have to communicate to the person and let them know what you did. Not doing that puts a bad light on staff. Of course, I'm guessing here, that the staff of the site go on defensive right away when someone posts something that doesn't go with the way they think it's ban or stifle. I bet they go on the attack too if you post contrary to what they think.

The lack of feedback, and whether it is appropriate
I have many times in the past temp banned a person for 24 hours. I send them an email, can't use PM since I banned them, telling them I banned them for 24 hours and the reason why. I tell them they are more than welcome when the ban is over. I will either get a reply with a whole bunch of expletives and some such other rant. Or the person won't reply at all. Will let the ban expire and come back and apologize for their actions and will explain what sent them over the edge. I have never lost a member after a temp ban. Some stamp their feet and throw a fit. Most take it and come back better citizens. As far as deleting the posts that lead to the ban I don't delete them. A thread with deleted posts reads like nonsense because integral parts of the thread were removed. I also like to let them be so the offender can see what they did. They could have been impaired.
