I think the second one looks better :)
2. Add Discord to the mix also... there was once a belief that it would kill off forums for good, and some people even saw it as a replacement for them. Even I once believed in it...

You can change the font to "Nunito Light" or "Nunito Regular". Try that. And to Cpvr, I've set the zoom level to 110% and it looks a bit better now, but I prefer a more bolder font, for the sake of my eyesight. I'm not used to very thin typefaces.

Still too thin, but I think the reason for that is because it's the "Extra Light" variant (found this out via Firefox's Inspector tool). I would suggest changing it to "Regular" and also change it to 18pt.
5. Mind I ask how long it had been shut for?

Yes. Sorry if I wasn't clear enough...

No, I want the font to revert back to what it was before.

I noticed that the font is now thinner, and I'm having a hard time to read posts with it. Last time, it was bolder so can this be brought back please?
9. Not sure if something can be done about it... even if I get John to at least modernise the entire software after all that time (to which SMF will finally be doing).
10. I'll chip in to this... I'm feeling somewhat lucky :P
11. Here's mine... https://pagespeed.web.dev/analysis/https-mindsconnect-jcink-net/lchw2h1iqh?form_factor=desktop I actually conducted tests with it before, just to address some performance issues as well as the SEO score being a bit off at one point. I even ran tests of the forum when forced with certain skins and got varying results.
12. Had yours spiked in activity for a bit during that period?
13. Were you off forums also?
14. When the Covid-19 pandemic first struck four years ago, everyone stayed at home and spent more time online, and I wonder if this included forums in general, even this one. I wouldn't really know myself because I kept away from forums for personal reasons (and I actually kept away from them months before the pandemic), so I'm just curious in general. Not sure if the "Most Users Online" record had ever broke in any forums for that reason... If they were indeed far more active than ever during that time, a part of me feels some regret, even though I would not have wanted to expose myself to the overall scaremongering about the disease and the societal/political impact it had on everyone. Anyway, discuss.
15. Money, money, money... that's all they care about these days 🙄

I once dreamt of being a forensic accountant, partly from inspiration of the Post Office scandal that happened in the UK. Don't think that'll happen now...

I'll soon get back to volunteering after a couple of years, but this time to work as a sound technician. Wish me luck on it 🤞

I first found out about it when you promoted it on my forum :P
19. Years ago, I would accept a ban appeal from someone if they were really sorry for what they did (like causing an heated argument), but most times I don't give anyone second chances. If they're banned, they're banned. It's as simple as that.
20. My forum has four VIPs, and their main special privilege is access to a secret forum section where normally the staff hold discussions (and from there I would allow them to make contributions). All four of these people are those that I trust and also good assets to the forum, and with one of them being of someone I knew for over fifteen years and knew how I can things in my previous forums.
21. I'm sure many of us have went through several forums in our lifetime. For me, I'll start... (including dates and forum software used) X Community (August 2004, InvisionFree): My first ever forum, but never took off... really because I was an immature noob then and had only like four members (although one of them was a good friend of mine from school, who had experience with forums herself) EXE Community (September 2004, InvisionFree): Pretty much the same as the last one, only that I had 11 members, but that was a flop too DX Community (March 2005, InvisionFree): A forum where I had some success with, and lasted a good couple of months... until I abandoned it in July that year RX Community (April 2008, ZetaBoards): Was my most successful forum ever, where I had it for four years and during that time had amassed over 500 members, though a good portion of them were from my YouTube channel at the time. Too bad it had to close following petty drama that broke out... Ocular Perception (September 2013, ZetaBoards): The first forum I made that was on a specific genre, in that case of multimedia. It didn't take off well and after two members I closed it The Hideout (January 2015, ZetaBoards): A forum that was made for former members of RXComm, and was invite-only (therefore I did not make its link public, until I later did). Was closed in July 2015 and I can't remember why... The Lightweb (September 2017, ZetaBoards): A forum that was initially made for the people I befriended at the RKC Petz Forum but it wasn't that popular amongst them... but became a runaway success within the ZetaBoards community for some reason. While it did live up to the greatness of RXComm in some ways, I didn't want to continue it on a new platform following the Tapatalk crisis mindsConnected (June 2018, Jcink): A tech forum that served as the spiritual successor to TLW, to which I had closed in April 2019 following a sudden slump in activity, lack of motivation coupled with frustration with Jcink in general and that I suddenly lost a trusted Developer. Even though it had closed then, it was continued as a Discord server until I passed the baton in October that year (but the server is now gone as of February 2020, so that's when the community really dissipated). As everyone would know, it reopened its doors in September, after a long five years. The Knowledge Hub (August 2024, Forumotion): A social science/general knowledge forum that didn't last long, plus the fact that I didn't like Forumotion all that much. Its uncertain fate and eventual closure had led to me reopening the above forum. So... what about you? :)
22. Was a member of Twitter, but left some time ago... and before that right-wing sympathiser took over. Recently I've been eyeing on Mastodon for promotional reasons. Bluesky doesn't really interest me all that much, but it's good that it lives up to the better legacy of Twitter, long before it became the cesspit that it is now.
23. When I first started my forum, most of the first members that came in were from the previous one I had (after letting them now by bulk email). Though when it came to my very first forum, it was solely from my YouTube subscribers.
24. I think submitting it to directories would be easier for me, but to Cpvr, I had researched on directories for these specific countries but most are really for businesses (including for Yell). How would a plucky wee forum of mine be seen amongst ads for driving instructors and whatnot? :P However, I had came across "SubmitX", where you can submit your forum/site to 376 different directories, and some where you can submit to them manually (including for specific countries and categories). I'll give this a shot later in the month and I'll let you all know (y)
25. No... I don't wish to part money with something like that, sorry to say. I'll do this when I have the time (y)
