Since I got to know Google Search Console more, and since I added more URLs to get indexed (such as certain threads and even forum categories), I'm now on it much more. -

My forum is on Jcink, but I did consider moving it off from there at one point... I only chose it because everybody else did so in light of the ZetaBoards/Tapatalk crisis years ago...

I like watching stuff with subtitles on after the first time I watch it, so that I can understand the dialogue a bit better.

One person I know gave a right good dressing down to one member who gave absolutely no respect to the community. He was ultimately banned afterwards.

I agree with the decision also, more so when the UK is following suit. Although, our case is different because the tragic suicide of Molly Rose is still in the minds of many, as a result of her being exposed to such harmful content on Instagram. However, I'm a bit concerned as to how it's going to be enforced...

The forum now has 7,141 posts and 74 members. While the member count is decent, I do hope to change that as I've added a new forum section to do with technical support (find it at the bottom of the "Other Tech" category). Was an idea I thought about for a while and I hope it does me and the community good in the long run :) 👍

Just to say, a forum can be a "closed community" as such if you don't advertise it and only share the link with those you know and trust. I did that with one I had in 2015 but I later made it public... Should say that my current forum became a closed community in 2019 when I dropped public advertising of it and upon its closure months later it became a full-time Discord community.

In terms of forum management, have you ever sacked your staff for any wrongdoing? For me, yes I have but it was back when I was new to forum management (like over twenty years ago), where I sacked a moderator, whom I hired just because he wanted the job, for simply abusing the warn level system for another member. Plus he was an immature twit as well... Thankfully, I didn't need to do this in recent times.

Give them a public scolding, and if I have to take it private. Increase their warn level and if they persist on being a dick, they get banned. Thankfully, I've not had to do that for years...

It'd be nice if this forum can have a section where members can request a review of their forum, blog or website and that any staff can give feedback on it, something that I think Forum Promotion once had years ago. There can also be an option for a quick or in-depth review. Just a thought, that's all :)

He wasn't meant to be respected from day one... he's always been an attention-seeker and generally an immature moron. For me, I've lost respect for Rolf Harris, but the circumstances circulating that were far more serious... (hint, Operation Yewtree)
