I think I'll wait until that's implemented... thanks anyway.

I would like to know if the "everyone" alerts can be turned off and if so where, because I personally find them annoying and that I don't always pay attention to each announcement where the "everyone" tag is used.
  3. What makes anyone a bad admin in my books? If they're a complete dick, basically...
  4. 24 and 57 this time... 🤞
  5. I would use hCaptcha, because to me it's much more secure than regular Captcha.
  6. I did considering moving my forum off Jcink a few times, and have it on Xenforo instead but I never got round doing it, especially when I have no experience in self-hosting at all...
  7. My own (obviously), The Coffee House and Forum Promotion. I tend to keep to a small familiar circle of forums these days.
  8. Mastodon, which is a million times better than cesspit called X, even though I use it mainly to promote my forum with...

    Sorry to hear that :(
  10. If this counts, my forum has Gravatar integration for anybody that cuts about without an avatar :P Also with custom colours for user groups in each of the dark skins on offer (but that was to address an accessibility issue).
  11. I only read the niche-related posts, so no.

Been absent for over two months if anybody had noticed... just dealt with personal stuff and that. Hope everyone's doing alright :) (y)

I would like to announce that the forum now has a new domain name, which is https://mindsconnected.tech. Anyone that has an account there will have to log in again under it. Also, 7,822 posts and 84 members, plus many more changes made from the past two months, such as custom text colours for user groups for each of the dark skins on offer (including for the default skin also), and that for any new member that joins us, you will see a little star next to your name when you post (with that being inspiration from Discord and Bluesky). :)
  14. And that's why people are flocking to Bluesky in their millions...
  15. Has the forum been rebranded? If so, I think the title of this thread and the directory item needs to be updated.
  16. Or even a few hours... And it's not a site for liberal-minded people either 😒
  17. Twitter, and that was long before Elon Musk took over and made it worse...
  18. Yes, but really if your forum lacks activity and needs a wee boost, even with new content made also...
  19. I did these in the past, but would not do them anymore... I don't have the time nor drive to do them either plus the fact that I'd rather stay in a familiar circle of forums these days.
  20. I used to run a general community forum and even had two before it (where one I had for over four years and my most successful), but now I hate the idea... as I'd rather run a forum that's more niche-oriented.
  21. A shoutbox, not so much, but having a Discord channel, your forum better prepare to write its suicide note...
  22. It's a bit of a grey area should I say... it's okay for certain threads, like for a news story and someone provides an update to it. But to post on an ancient thread with nothing better to add or post in a "Merry Christmas" thread in March, then certainly not.
  23. When I briefly tinkered with ProBoards years ago, I found its ACP rather clunky... then again it was for a test board :ROFLMAO:

Apparently, phpBB attracts a lot of spambots, more than any other forum software so anything that has a forum running it better have adequate protection against them... One person I know who has a forum with it came up with a creative way to ward them off... where if any of them attempt to register with any of the profile fields filled in (as they usually do), they get redirected off the forum to, somewhere far far away... This wasn't done with some crazy script or add-on, but rather modification with the registration page (and as a result, it tells real members not to fill in the fields until after they're registered).
