1. You can request a page to be indexed, where all you need to do is paste in the URL at the seach box above you want to look up (or go to URL Inspection), and then click "Request Indexing". It'll take a few days for Google to index it, just to say.
2. I already stated what it's about... unless you mean something else?
3. It isn't... I stated this in my opening post. Sorry.
4. I am looking for someone who is suitable to fill the role of Community Staff for my forum, more so to take the place of one person who resigned from the position a month ago. Just so anybody knows, this is basically a moderator position but has its extra perks, such as engaging with the community in general (as well as welcoming in new members) but also help create new content across the forum. The titles of them being SEO-friendly can help too. The position is open for anyone, whether they're an existing member on said forum or not. Also, the offer is completely free. If you're interested, do drop me a PM and we can discuss this further (along with past experience you may wish to share with me). I look forward to anyone that comes forward :) (y)
5. There's a handful for me... The Coffee House Forum Promotion Focus On Photography - a photography forum EEVBlog Electronics Community Forum - a forum dedicated to electronics WinWorldPC - a forum dedicated to vintage software
6. This is what happened to me in April 2019, where my right-hand man (who first served as Deputy Admin, then Developer) suddenly vanished and worse took the forum's default skin with him (which he made). That soon led to the forum's sudden closure back then plus the fact that I was going through other things also...
7. Yes I am, in fact I crosspost any postings from Mastodon to it... You lucky sod :p
8. I know this already ;P
9. You mean the HTML file that I can upload to my forum? If so, I cannot, as Jcink doesn't support HTML files being uploaded. I can put this in the forum's Board Wrappers if that's okay. And by the way, I do pardon my ignorance regarding "301" redirects... I completely forgot that it's code 301, not actually 301 as the number of URLs I had to redirect Forgive me 😅
10. You know, I was thinking of that myself. I'll give it a shot later on...
11. The first one stands out better than the second, so that's my choice :)
12. Desktop only, because to me it's near-impossible to use the Admin CP from your phone (using it from your tablet may be alright even with a stylus, but it's not practical).
13. Since having a new domain for my forum, I'm having trouble with the "Change of address" page in Google Search Console... First of all, I will admit that I have skipped to the second step regarding verifying the new domain and it was only yesterday that I noticed that I have to set-up 301 redirects from the old domain (for further explanation, this includes 178 pages I have indexed). I've been trying to look ways to do this via here, but I cannot find the best way to do it from there. Right now though, I've made use of a URL redirect code which takes anybody that tries to access the forum with the old domain (which was "mindsconnect.jcink.net") to the new one but of course that's not really the solution, unless I get Googlebot to index some of the pages again. I believe this might be the solution here but then I would have to do the same for another 299, and I know there's a limit on how many you can have indexed per day (I think it's 10 or something?). Any further assistance with this, so that I can finally verify the forum under its new domain.
14. If he doesn't, then you're free to take it :)
15. The Online Users List, and then see latest posts via the Recent Discussions box at the very top of the forum index.
16. Cedric You need to update my entry... first with its new domain name ("mindsconnected.tech" as a reminder) and that you need 50 posts to advertise, and that you need an account to view the section also. I know, strict, but these measures are needed especially to ward off people that "post-and-run".
17. They have in the past... maybe I should tell them to do it again :P
18. Enough for everyone to have a browse around, probably like 10-15 threads made by you as a rough estimate.
19. Unfortunately not :( But I will keep trying, even though I've been using Mastodon for that since October. I also use Bluesky as back-up for the main goal.
20. The forum has been lacking some post activity as of late so, why not request this to give it a wee boost? I would like fdk to be amongst the contributors to do this... but for anybody else that have filled out these orders in the past, you will need to log in again under the new domain name the forum recently has gotten. Also, please post in the niche-related areas (though the Networking and Engineering sections could do with more love and attention). Thanks :)
21. About two I think... the other was the Game Maker Community forum.
22. Some forums can actually thrive without an off-topic section... such as one where I've been a member of for almost then years but it actually got rid of it as it attracted spam, at least according to its rather-strict admin who's no longer around. Another forum I'm on has an off-topic section, but wants threads there of a technological nature (hence why it's called "General Technical Chat").
23. "Fragile"... as I'm a bit of a delicate person and also in reference to my mental state.
24. https://mindsconnected.tech Bring it on ✊
25. Not quite... I could create a brand new forum on Xenforo from scratch and import the forum's database onto it. And besides, I'm fine with Jcink... for now anyway, but thanks for the offer.
