  1. I used to think big communities were better and that I should aim at that. How wrong was I. Some forums become huge, others don't. Those that succeed in becoming huge, achieve it thanks to different factors in play. Some of those factors are hard work and clever admins. But sometimes it's also a lot of luck and perfect timing. All those huge sites deserve their success. My point is that there's not necessarily a recipe for success. Over the years, I've come to learn that small and medium sized communities are the best. They may not have the numbers the big ones have, sure. But they're a place where you can connect and participate in quality exchanges. There's way less noise, overall. You're much more likely to find super high-quality, niche content in a small or medium sized community. And most of those small and medium communities, old and recent ones, often have a charm that the big ones do not. :) Maybe that's just me!
  2. That's pretty sad. It's like attacking and stealing from a museum. Who does that? Even if the point was to show how unreliable and flimsy their infrastructure and security is... Don't steal and leak their data, come on...

Hey everyone, I'm Num7, I'm the owner and admin of Paranormalis.com. I acquired it in 2009, and the rest is history. It's been quite a journey. The forum has gone through many transformations over the last 2 decades. Adding/removing sections, the advent of social media, Discord, redefining and repurposing things in order to stay alive and relevant. Paranormalis has been part of the Top Site List site for nearly all that time, so when Cedric sent me an email about this new forum, I felt I should join and give it a try. At the same time, I went ahead and added Paranormalis to the new site list. https://administrata.net/topsites/paranormalis.28/ I'll take a look around and see what discussions I can take part in. Hopefully, this new forum can help a new wave of people who are interested in creating their own communities. :)
