Google begins testing AI-only search results
In no way am I comfortable with AI scraping our intellectual property and hallucinating answers back, so there are some serious other issues with AI. But on the sole topic of asking for a question and getting an immediate answer, AI overviews and AI summarizing results can be powerful.

Do you plan your content in advance or wing it?
I genuinely believe for a forum admin running the long game, you need to create "systems" that are repeatable and efficient. Writing is such a creative endeavor and usually lends itself to being spur of the moment, but taking the time to have a content calendar to already know what to write about can really help you plan ahead, brainstorm, and focus.

Google begins testing AI-only search results
Its a race right now, and there is an existential threat to Google that if someone developers a search portal that makes their answers easier and faster, then Google will ultimately lose its web dominance. As a user, I objectively would prefer to have answers presented to me (as long as it's accurate, of course). Having to click through 10 websites and read and investigate and search is objectively harder.

ChatGPT and Other Chatbots Are Hurting Publishers Even Worse Than We Thought
Zero click searches are a real problem for content publishers. At some point, sites need to protect their intellectual property from being re-shared and regurgitated by AI.

How do you react to a new competitor rising?
The internet is a big place, and users can be members of many forums. No one can claim a monopoly on any one member. As long as you stay true to your strategy and course, then you focus on what you can control.

Admin Junkies
I'll be the first one to candidly admit that the spam is much more than what anyone cares for, myself most of all. The system already catches 4-6 users at time of registration per day, and then we manually moderate the threads that make it through. I'll need to take a deeper look at the spam settings and the add-ons, but ... If you need some questionable crypto services, I have a few good links I can send your way 🤣 To all members new and existing, you're invited to fall in love with forums again with Admin Junkies ♥️

Rebranding and Merging: The Hot Trend in Communities?
Some of the rebranding feels lateral, but this is the power of running your own forum - your vision, your inspiration, your privilege to choose a new domain and design and name. Excited to see the future of these communities!

Is it best to have a website along side your forum?
Forums and online communities require an audience. If you have a captured audience already, then your forum can survive. But if you don't have an audience and need of build one to feed your community, then you do need to build a website of resources and content.

The Power of Pages in Invision Community for Your Online Community
Pages is such a powerful part of the Invision Community ecosystem - it's almost the second app that I think community managers need to explore, after setting up their forum. It really allows you to build a set of powerful resources and references around your forum discussion, where your forum is for organic and group discussion whereas the Pages databases are for static and expert resources. Having both is so incredibly powerful, especially for standalone communities looking to publish resources.

By the way I love Doh Themes! I was thinking of switching to Doh Theme if and when AJ is ever upgraded to 2.3
