  1. I always sleep with two pillows. When I was a kid I would lay my head underneath my pillows for some reason lol. I remember I did this once when I was spending the night at my cousin's house and my aunt got concerned that I could breathe so she woke me up when she was laying my head on my pillow. :V
  2. 16% seems like a small number. It could be from the lawsuits, they lost some money so they can't pay those people they're laying off. Either way it sucks for those who are getting laid off. Is this also the reason why they're not going to have any more large updates this year?
  3. Good luck to everyone who enters! I look forward to seeing who the winners will be. :D
  4. I finished up Angel over the weekend so now I've started watching Heroes for the first time. I remember when it first came out, I was in High School and Teen Titans had just ended but I just couldn't bring myself to watch other superhero shows at the time since Teen Titans was and still is my favorite animated series of all time and I was upset that it was cancelled. I'm liking it so far!
  5. I have a section dedicated for new features and updates on TheeZone. Heck I do this on all my forums actually, I feel that you get more people keeping up with news if you have a section rather than one sticky thread.
  6. I think we might see a huge decline in Facebook use. Already Zuckerberg change moderation policies for a specific group of minorities and also removed fact checking. I rarely hop on Facebook due to the changes myself because I'm part of the minority they're allowing discrimination against now which is absolutely ridiculous that this is happening in 2025 but it's due to the political landscape. I hope it'll be sooner than later that Facebook will fall and more people will move to alternate platforms. MySpace was much better than Facebook, but sometime in the late 00s we all moved over to Facebook. I hope a forum renaissance will happen soon, so many people are starting to see that these bigger platforms are garbage and are moving to Bluesky and Fediverse versions of popular social media websites.
  7. On one hand I hope they do issue this fine, but on the other hand will it actually lead to Elon changing policies to comply to the DSA? He's already making statements that they already meet the regulations but clearly they don't otherwise they wouldn't try issuing a fine.
  8. I've never tried setting up a subreddit to go along with my forums. I did get some members on Gex Forums by promoting the forum on the subreddit so it could in theory work. I know there's plenty of people looking for Reddit alternatives because I see people talking about the moderation that's been going on over on Reddit lately and many people are fed up with it. Might be worth giving it a go!
  9. I just always wing it with my communities. I come up with ideas on the fly and go with them, sometimes if I feel that it won't go the way I want it I just roll with a new idea.
  10. It depends on the niche of the forum. If you've got a promotional forum with services, you'll need more staff to take on the tasks of a package team, or any other team. If it's a general discussion forum, I personally think you should wait to hire staff. Smaller forums really just need an Admin to keep things going until they feel they need more staff IMO.
  11. Are you guys thinking of collaborating together to revive one of these platforms?! I would love to see that! Anyways I never got a chance to try either platform myself, back when they were around I was working at Walmart living from paycheck to paycheck and barely had any money for bills.
  12. LMAO Putin's Tangerine Fleshlight. xD I got a kick out of it btw, just saying. Anyways I never actually had beneficial trolls join one of my forums before. I did get a bunch of people join Mightyno9 Universe who didn't like the fact that a good number of members who didn't like one of the moderators on the official forums were posting on my forum. This was during Gamergate and one of the people working for Comcept was caught up in that drama. So they came over and started trolling my forum.
  13. Ravenfreak posted a post in a topic in Completed Orders
    I'll tag the first spot!
  14. Hey Senkusha, great seeing you here! Welcome to Administrata, I hope you enjoy your stay with us! Be sure to check out our content bundles if you want some extra content for your forum. :D
  15. Will this practice actually come to light though? I hope there's some companies out there who are hiring artists to create pieces and are getting paid for it.
  16. Whenever I write articles for my websites, I research the topic on a few different websites to get the facts. Or if it's an opinion piece, I type up ideas and then eventually make those ideas into articles. I always type up my articles in Open office writer, it's my text editor of choice. It'll also help me find typos, pretty much every CMS does have built in spell checkers but I'd rather have the article written up in Open Office before I add it to my site. If you don't want to use a text editor, you could also just save your articles as drafts on your website and then publish them whenever you're done. You can also have a second set of eyes proofread your articles for you before you publish them as well.
  17. I usually don't reach out to my members, but maybe I'll start doing this to see how they're doing. They should feel at home while posting on our forums anyways, I wouldn't want to be on a forum where I felt that I didn't belong.

It's currently cloudy outside right now, we had some thunderstorms roll in about a half hour ago but they didn't last long. It's 53 degrees, so it's nice and cool.
  19. I only use my username on forums. Some people know my real name and I'm okay with a few people knowing it. I like having a username, and I like the anonymity of having a username on communities.
  20. You could limit the number of channels you have in a Discord server, and have it strictly for staff or a few exclusive members. That way, all those conversations that would happen in a server can happen on your forum instead. For example, if you've got a Roleplaying forum you can have your off topic chats on Discord but have the forum strictly for in character conversations.
  21. I never thought to try and promote my forums on Quora! Seeing how it's a Q&A message board, I think there would be lots of people willing to join your communities to get a better feel for whatever topic they're curious about. I'm going to bookmark this thread and come back to it so I can use it as a guide whenever I get the opportunity to promote my communities on Quora.
  22. I'm currently engaging in post exchanges. However, on Gex Forums I got a good number of people to sign up from the subreddit after I asked one of the moderators. With the Gex trilogy coming out this year, I couldn't think of a better time for promoting a Gex forum. Plus Reddit has been doing things recently that many people aren't a fan of, so I think we'll see a influx of users on forums again in the future. So it might be worth promoting on Reddit or heck even Lemmy which is a Reddit alternative. I feel that lots of folks who use decentralized social media are those who are more willing to join forums again too.
  23. Man having to maintain a dozen blogs on top of four forums must have been a lot! It's hard keeping up with a Blog more than a Forum IMO. I have one that I haven't kept up with, can't imagine trying to keep up with 12! Anyways this number is going to vary depending on who's answering. Right now I'm doing fine managing RPG Haven, Thee Zone, and Gex Forums. Like I mentioned above, I haven't kept up with my blog so I'm thinking about either archiving it or actually working on it again I haven't decided yet. There's another forum I have that I'm working on converting to Discourse, I was going to have it be converted to vBulletin but the devs took forever to respond to my ticket so I decided to cancel my vB cloud subscription and just move to Discourse where I can take advantage of ActivityPub. And with the state of the United States currently, I need to get this forum back up and running again as soon as possible because it's been offline for too long. Anyways sorry for the long post lol.
  24. Yeah I've tried their Stella hosting a few years back and even the forum I had hosted on there that didn't have too much traffic didn't really load that fast. They're my go to for domains though!
  25. Imagine that, hackers were able to hack Twitter and they've known for at least 2 years about how vulnerable the site was. While I do have a Twitter account for my old forum, Mighty No. 9, I don't have much to worry about. The email associated with that account was already on the "Have I been Pwned" list, and I don't use the same password everywhere so I'm good.
