Lemmy, the Fediverse version of Reddit
Has anyone here used Lemmy yet? It's the Fediverse version of Reddit. It's been growing as of late since many people are getting fed up with Reddit's moderation. I think it's a great alternative, and it's another place where forum owners can promote their forums on too! If you do wish to join, I recommend joining via www.discuss.online. After filling out their questionnaire I was approved quickly! Some instances aren't as well maintained and you might be left in limbo, waiting for your account to be approved.

Mobile Makes The World Go Round
I know you mentioned Xenforo. There's other software that are way behind Xenforo in terms of mobile accessibility. MyBB doesn't even have a responsive theme out of the box, which is crazy since literally every other software does, free or paid. Though you're right, I'm one of those people who visit forums mostly on a desktop, but I do visit them every once in a while on my phone. As long as a forum has a responsive theme I'm content, though I'm wondering what else would a mobile use need that a responsive theme can't give them other than the fact that there's not an app? I'm just curious to know, since I'm not a mobile user lol.

What are you listening to?
Currently listening to this soundtrack for the first time. I never thought that a Tennis game would have such an awesome soundtrack but here we are!

The hardest part in maintaining a Forum?
Getting people to sign up and be active has always been the hardest part for me at least when it comes to my forums. I know I should promote my communities a bit better than what I do now. I haven't fully used Reddit in a way to help get members to join my forums.

Steps to growing a social media following for Community Building
This is a great approach, it doesn't make you look like a spammer. If you look like one, chances are people will not go and check out your community.

Glitchfeed.net - a case study
I also think the badge for early members could look a bit glitchy, to match with the name of the forum! I think it'd be cool to see. When I first opened my forum, Free to be us I had a "Early bird" group where the first few members who joined got placed in the group and they had their own hidden lounge.

Is Blogging still Profitable in 2025 ? Do Not Start a Blog Until You Know These 5 Truths
It's probably worth making a blog and having an account on Youtube or TikTok so you can have videos to pair with your blog. It'd take more work than solely just owning a blog, but it's probably well worth it in this day and age.

If animals could talk, which one do you think would be the most sarcastic?
Cats would definitely be the most sarcastic lol. They're very independent creatures and like you said they act like they're in charge. xD

What’s the first thing you do when starting a new forum?
I always set up my categories and subforums after I've installed my software of choice. Then I start posting threads in each section so the forum isn't empty, I've learned early that having an empty forum is very off-putting for members. Afterwards I focus on finding a theme that's right for my forum, add the graphics and start promoting the forum.

Highest you've spent buying a game?
I've spent about $70 on a loose copy of Mega Man Legends 2. I really wanted a copy of the game so I bought one back in the 10's. Now a loose copy goes for $92 so it's actually good I bought it when I did lol.

Getting flagged as AI even though it is 100% human written
It's annoying that this happens. On one hand I'm okay with people using AI if English or any other language isn't their first one and they want to communicate better with other people around the world but having your content being flagged as AI when it's not sucks.

Are you always lazy at night?
I'm always lazy at night but it's weird because I also get lots of ideas for my projects during this time but usually on weeknights where I have to go to bed early to get up for work the next day...

Is Your Forum or Blog a Business?
All my websites are solely just fun projects I enjoy running. I never really thought to make money from them so I never took the time to look into earning money from any of my websites.

Internet forums are disappearing because now it's all Reddit and Discord. And that's worrying.
I had to come back to this thread because earlier today while I was browsing r/Millenials someone made a post about how they don't like how the current internet is and feel that it's broken and it's all just a ploy to make more money. Many people brought up that they missed the days of message boards. I replied and said that there's still good sites on the internet, you just need to actually look for them these days. I just don't get it, if these people are claiming that they miss the days why not make the effort to find the forums that are still around? Why not drop social media for conversations and get back on forums? I just don't get it lol.

Glitchfeed.net - a case study
I love the name of the site! As a huge gaming nerd and forum nerd you know I'm interested in your new forum! I'll definitely be joining whenever it opens up to the public.

Google Search Console
I always make sure to connect all my websites to Google Search Console. I get emails sent to me whenever big milestones are reached, Gex Forums is killing milestones which makes me super happy to see! Anyways Senkusha you'll need to go through the pages listed and remove any "noindex tags" that are present. That's quite a lot of pages too oof. Do you have another admin that could help assist you with SEO? Or to help you tackle these problems? Also you could as over on the Google Search Central Community for help too if you haven't yet.

Digg is returning thanks to Digg and Reddit co-founders Kevin Rose and Alexis Ohanian
Will you be paying the $5 fee Cpvr? I decided to go ahead and add my email address on the site. I know I mentioned that I was a bit offput by the fact they're going to implement AI for moderation but now I'm curious and want to check out the site whenever it launches. :V I'm almost tempted to pay the $5 fee when I get paid tomorrow... Not sure if I'm actually going to do that or not though lol.

Do you get bored with your forums?
I used to get bored at times in the past. I think that's why I ended up shutting down so many throughout the years and then starting new ones later on. Now if I feel burnout I take a break and come back when I'm recharged. Forums are a hobby for me, I enjoy having my own space with my own rules where I get to talk to likeminded people without being criticized or having to worry about posts being deleted.

Forums aren't as addictive as Social Media
I don't know, when I was younger I would always rush to go to the computer so I could get on a forum and start posting. Either way it is true that forums aren't as addicting as social media is. This is a good thing though, you don't get brain rot while browsing a forum because you actually have to think before you post. (I probably sound like an old fart saying that though lol.) You could add badges to your forum that could bring in more members since they would be rewarded by posting or doing other tasks. Plus there are forum software out there like NodeBB and Discourse that have endless scrolling implemented.

What was the last tv show that you watched?
I didn't realize that season 3 of Invincible is currently streaming on Amazon Prime so I decided to watch the first two episodes of that instead of watching Heroes. Already big things are happening so I'm excited to see where this season is going to go!

Do you actually look at signatures?
I do click on links in signatures from time to time if the url catches my eye or the image they're using to promote their website looks cool. I always tend to read members signatures on every forum I post on.

Internet forums are disappearing because now it's all Reddit and Discord. And that's worrying.
It's really depressing to see the current landscape of the internet. A discord server cannot replace a forum, and I hoped more people would have realized this by now. Also whenever Reddit is down, good luck trying to get in contact with your community. Forums are still needed, especially in this day and age with content being heavily moderated or corporations could pull the plug on their websites. I have a feeling we'll be seeing a rise of forum use soon since many people have been voicing their concerns about Reddit's moderation recently.
