How to Promote a Forum on Reddit: A Beginner’s Guide
Actually, I promoted one of my forums on reddit and got a good number of people to join! In fact, the head moderator on r/gex joined my forum! So it can help a bit, but you should always ask permission before posting on a subreddit.

Internet Archive hacked, data breach impacts 31 million users
Great looks like my email was part of that leak... Thankfully I use different passwords on my accounts so my other accounts should be fine.

What do you do as your job/career?
I'm currently working at U.S. Bank as a lockbox processor! I just started my new job today, things went somewhat smooth other than the fact that I got there too early since no one told me that I start at 7 during my training weeks. :V

Reuters, CNN add website paywalls
My local newspaper website does this same thing and it's always annoying when people link to their site. I stick to getting my news from 1440 Daily Digest which is a free unbiased news source. I'm surprised these two sites haven't done this yet, makes me wonder if Fox News will eventually do the same thing.

Forums are not as popular as they once were.
Yeah the traditional forum may be dying out, but there's still going to be plenty of us who prefer forums to any other form of communication! I think lots of people will start to realize that forums are the way to go when it comes to research communities, especially since social media censors content.

What would you do if someone copied your forum or blog?
I would reach out to their hosting provider first thing, though this can be tricky at times especially if they used offshore hosting that ignores DMCA. If this is the case and the website still won't be removed from their host, then I would spread the word that they stole my website's design to other people. Though this could backfire too, and if you end up telling people and they harass the other site it could go south. Overall it's a tricky situation.

Do you write scripts for video content?
For those who use video content as a means to promote your work, do you also write scripts for these videos? It's always best to write a script for any video you wish to create, you want the videos to be as professional as possible especially when promoting a business. I often write scripts for the videos I upload on my Youtube channel. This helps keep the video flow well, and keeps you on topic.

Have you used a billboard to promote your business?
Lots of businesses use billboards to help spread the word about the services they offer. I know it can be quite expensive to promote your business on a billboard, but I'm curious to see if anyone here has had the means to do so. Imagine how many potential clients you can reach by promoting your business on a billboard! If I ever had the funds to do this, I would immediately. I wouldn't go with a digital billboard since they tend to glitch out, and are more expensive to purchase ad space.

Do you have business cards?
In this day and age, most people promote their work online. However, printing off business cards and promoting your work offline can help you get more clients. You can hand them out at different conventions, especially if you have a booth displaying your work if you offer tangible goods. One of my coworker's handed me a business card with his wife's etsy shop information printed on it. I was interested in seeing what she had to offer, so I checked out her shop. Do you have business cards printed off? Did you gain new clients from handing out your business cards?

Do you use a word processor to type up articles?
Do you use a word processor like Microsoft Word for typing up articles? Or do you prefer to write your articles on the website you're writing for? I've used a word processor in the past while writing reviews for a website, however when I did this I needed to edit my post prior to publishing my work because the formatting on the website broke my article and sentences were broken up and it was a unreadable mess. I think it's better to write your articles on the website, save a draft and then post it whenever it's ready to be published.

Using Youtube and other video platforms for marketing
In this day and age, more and more people are using Youtube and other video sharing sites such as TikTok to help with promoting their businesses. Are you utilizing these platforms to help spread the word about your services? I feel they're just as important as any other social media platform, many people enjoy watching short videos. Using Youtube Shorts or even Tiktok can really help spread the word about your services and websites as well.

Offering Discounts to Friends and Family
There may come a time where you need to work on a project for a friend or family member. When this time comes, do you like to offer your friends and family a discount that you wouldn't offer to other clients? Or do you expect your friends and family to pay the same amount that another client would pay? I feel like if you gave out discounts to friends and family, this may look bad. This could possibly lead to clients going elsewhere. Offering discounts to every potential customer looks better in my opinion.

How do you determine what the appropriate length of an article should be?
You want to be able to write captivating articles that gets your readers wanting more. However, you also don't want to drag on an article with paragraphs that don't flow well with the article you're writing. How do you find that perfect balance of writing an article that is long enough but isn't too long that you may lose potential readers? What about articles that get straight to the point but are too short? What should a writer do in this predicament? I'd love to hear everyone's thoughts on this.

How many hours do you put into freelance work?
How many hours do you put in your freelance work? Is there a specific day of the week where you tend to get more orders for the services you offer and thus do you have to put more hours into your work? For me I like to put at least 2 hours in a day for my freelance work. Since I also have a full time job, I don't have all the time to focus on freelance work. It's always best to put enough time into your work to ensure you offer your best work, you never want to rush a job since you could make mistakes.

Do you have someone else proofread your work before you publish it?
Sometimes when we go to write an article for a website you can get lost in your own work and it can be difficult to pinpoint any grammatical errors or spelling errors while double checking your work. Having another pair of eyes can help you when writing articles, remember you want your work to be as professional as possible. Your readers come to your website or blog to get information for the niche you're writing for. So I ask, do you have someone else proofreading your work before you publish it? Sometimes I have my wife help me when I write articles on my blog, just to double check and make sure my articles are easy to read and are free from spelling and grammatical errors.

Which coding language should a new developer start with?
I know this is probably going to be a bit difficult to answer, since most developers tend to stick with whatever language they're most comfortable with. However, for those who are new to coding for a website which language should one start with? Python's syntax is pretty easy, but is it viable to learn for webmaster purposes? I know a little bit of Python, and I was teaching myself some php in the past. I'd love to hear everyone's feedback!

What Are Your Thoughts on Paid to Post Forums
As a member I would think it would be difficult to earn money on paid to post forums, you really need to find the time to post quite often. As for owning one, I can't imagine how you could pay your members unless you had a great paying job and disposable income. Though I do wonder, if ad revenue helps in this regard.

What's your favorite hobby?
Mine has to be ROM hacking. I also enjoy posting on forums as well, it's fun getting to know new people and just have a good conversation. When it comes to ROM hacking, I hack the 8-bit Sonic the Hedgehog games on the Sega Master System and Game Gear. It's fun working with games that barely anyone has touched, though there's other people who enjoy hacking these games now too.

What number of kids would you want?
My wife and I talked about having kids when we first started going out, but the older we got the more we realized that kids just aren't for us. We already don't have much money, plus we prefer the company of cats anyways so we have a kitten who's a handful on his own lol.

Favorite music genres?
I mainly enjoy listening to 90's alternative, classic house music, synthwave, video game music, pop punk, 80's pop and hair bands. I also enjoy listening to EDM, mainly stuff from the 90's though.

What's your motive behind creating a forum?
I enjoy the structure and organization of a forum over any other platform, plus I wanted to make a community to connect with other people. For Gex Forums, I noticed there was only a Discord and subreddit for the series, but I felt that there should be a traditional forum as well. Especially since Gex is old school, and probably could have had a forum for the series back in the day. Thee Zone was created originally as VG Challenges, but since I had other forums similar to that one I just merged them.

What game deserves a movie part?
I would like to see a Pokemon movie that was based on the main series games and not Detective Pikachu. I like Detective Pikachu of course, but to see a live action film about one of the main series games would be even better. Heck even if it was based around the anime and we got to see Ash and Pikachu again one last time but in a live action film would be amazing.
