  1. Good luck Hulk! I'm sure you'll find the best person suited for the job and Chatosaur will continue to get better and better!

I was wondering why my avatar reverted back to my Sonic one. xD That explains it! I know that it's tough to manage multiple websites, I'm happy to see that you've merged Agora with Administrata so it'll continue to live on!

Welcome to Administrata Kat, great to see you here with us! :D

I got tickets to see Sonic 3! I don't get to see it until Monday though. :( So I'm going to stay off social media until I see it.
  5. I'll try to add 15 threads if that will help! Just let me know and I can get started on it as soon as I can. :) Also I never post in the forum games sections on forums, that's just a rule I have whenever I work on packages.
  6. I think it also depends on the niche of the forum. For example, say you have a gaming related forum. You could have contests or tournaments even where members can earn gift cards or even possibly steam codes to certain games. It's best to test the waters with a few different things to see what sticks.
  7. I wish that Youtube comments were part of the content creation orders. :P I have a Youtube channel and think it would be great to get more comments on some of my videos to help the algorithm.
  8. Thankfully I never had anyone come to me and beg me to buy a plugin for them. :P I only got spam, nothing too out of the ordinary just links to suspicious downloads which of course I didn't click on.
  9. Man the things you can do with just some CSS edits and all the bells and whistles that come with Invision is amazing! Though I honestly preferred the teal/green over the sliver/blue in the category strip. It fits the theme a bit better IMO.
  10. Myspace was the first one I used! Honestly it's better than Facebook ever was, the fact that you could customize your own profile and add CSS edits made it awesome! It sucks that the website was never properly backed up and lots of data was lost. I had a video on there that is lost to time, including some pictures too.
  11. I never heard of this plugin before! I'm not really a fan of the layout though, it reminds me too much of social media and less like an actual forum.
  12. I keep an eye on activity levels, if I notice that someone is quite active and hasn't broken any rules I would consider them before anyone else. It's also a perk if they've been a moderator before. I always hire within the forum.
  13. NGL I have one and I really have no clue how to promote it. Plus there's already well established forums that exist on the fetish, so mine has been stagnant and only has 5 members on it. It's a very specific fetish, one I don't want to go into detail because it can be a controversial one I'll just leave it at that. :P

It's rough whenever I get in these moods. Because then it takes me longer to log into the computer and interact with people online. I also usually don't like playing video games or listening to music, I often will watch Youtube videos for hours.
  15. I've never seen Patreon being used for a community before, I've only seen it being used for updates on the creator's projects. Anyways going back to the closed vs open community, I think certain niches might need to be on closed communities for protection. Others might just be restricted to a company's employees, again these types of communities would need to be protected.
  16. Also don't go in immediately posting links to your forum. If it's a specific niche, ask the moderators of the sub before you post. You can posts links on your own profile, but honestly no one really looks at that so you probably won't get much engagement there. Going back to karma, you'll need to have a good amount of karma to post on certain subreddits to begin with. Don't ask for karma, because you won't get it and you'll end up getting downvoted quite often.
  17. I think it depends on the type of forum you have. If it's a general chat forum it might kill activity on the forum. If it's a roleplaying one, it could help keep the simple banter off the main forum if you don't have a ooc section.

Oof looks like it's down again. I was able to browse the forum earlier. I wonder if Joelr is updating something?

Hey welcome to Administrata! I hope you enjoy your stay here with us. :D Be sure to check out our content service!
  20. I really like Namecheap and purchased almost all my domains from them. The only one I bought from Cloudflare was for my personal portfolio website which I still need to update. :V
  21. I'm definitely more laid back when it comes to moderation. If a member breaks a rule, I will just send a friendly reminder if it's one of the more serious rules. If they keep it up I will just suspend them, but this is usually only when they're harassing other people.
  22. If I notice something that looks out of place, I will bring it up in a thread. Though I usually don't find too many things annoying, I mainly visit forums on a desktop computer most of the time so if there's issues with mobile formatting, I honestly will never see it. :V

I think they're just bored, or they don't like the content on your forum for some reason. As for Xenforo, I know there's a good number of people that don't like the platform or staff, so I guess they want to mess with the site.
  24. I've finished my part!
  25. I think more forums should use the merge feature rather than locking threads that already exist. If a new member sees that their thread has been locked and was redirected to the existing thread, they could feel hesitant to post on your forum.
