  1. Follow You Down by Gin Blossoms
  2. I noticed there's a user called Purple Pimple on a forum I was posting on the other day. xD Made me laugh the first time I read it!
  3. I allow members to share links, as long as they're not spamming the forum. If it adds to the conversation in a thread that's even better!
  4. This is also helping Bluesky as many people continue to leave Twitter and they are making their way to Bluesky. The lead singer for The Cure, Robert Smith, is finally closing his Twitter account and moving over to Bluesky.
  5. It's actually branching out to local city subs too, I've seen this on a few local subreddits. Good, I'm glad more and more subreddits are banning Twitter after Elon pulled that stunt the other day.
  6. So I guess older websites that don't have JavaScript will be affected by this. Also that really stinks for those who don't want to use JavaScript for security purposes!
  7. I know I need to work on condensing some of my sections on Thee Zone. I've got way too many sub forums and I think it can be off putting for new members. This is something I finally plan on fixing this year, it's something I should have worked on already I admit.
  8. I was thinking of having new member restrictions on one of my forums, but I feel that they do more harm than good on forums these days. Why restrict a new member from doing the same things that a well established member can do? I get being cautious, but you can always keep an eye on the new members posts and determine if they're a troll or a spam bot.
  9. I still never beat Dark Gaia... Anyways I've been playing Turok 3 and Tomb Raider. I keep playing Turok 3 to keep my weekly streak on my Xbox Series S, I've been playing Tomb Raider on my Evercade. It's interesting playing Tomb Raider via a cartridge!
  10. For my sites I only have Admins and Moderators. I think section moderators are a thing of the past unless you have a promotional forum with services, then your content members are technically section moderators.
  11. I like Hostinger, I've heard people having issues with them but I've never had any issues with them so far and their prices are great!
  12. DC is way better than Marvel, not one character from Marvel is better than Raven. :P I prefer to watch animated series than movies though, and DC does better with animated series and animated movies than Marvel does. Marvel does better with the films.
  13. I got my clothes ready for the morning. Nothing too exciting I know lol.
  14. I personally like to come up with a name for my new website, and then I go and see if the .com is taken or not. If it is, then I look at other tld and if they're all taken well I come up with a different name or use a less popular extension like .zone for example. That's how I purchase my domain names, in fact I've always done this.

Thank you both for your feedback! I'm bumping this because I've written an article on the site. I don't often do this, and I think this is a very important topic. It's an article on the recent TikTok ban in America. https://thee.zone/index.php?article/7-the-short-lived-tiktok-ban-shows-the-current-state-of-the-internet-is-bad-and-ne/
  16. I enjoy having a community that I'm in control of without the fear of it going down unless it went down due to my own negligence. I also think forums are the best way to communicate with other people, they're more organized and you can have way more meaningful conversations on forums than social media.
  17. I'm with Cedric on this one, they probably wanted the domain name you snatched up. Unless they start making their website look identical to yours down to the theme, content etc. I wouldn't worry about it much.
  18. I left Xenforo to use Woltlab suite, I didn't have to pay extra for the CMS that comes with Woltlab and it's a bit cheaper than Xenforo. I've also left phpBB to go with vBullein recently because I needed the extra plugins like a group system and blog system for one of my communities. In the past I moved from phpBB over to Invision, but that's because I was young and wanted to use IPB even though I really couldn't afford it back then and I can't now either lol.
  19. My forums unfortunately don't seem to get too many new members signing up. Occasionally I'll see a new face. I'm guessing once the Gex Trilogy finally comes out, this will change a bit for Gex Forums. As for my other ones, I still need to get one back up and running again and I can see it becoming more active with the political changes that will come with the next four years.
  20. Yeah I usually only hire people over 18, I wouldn't want to hire a underaged person. It would be weird working alongside young teenagers when I'm 34 years old and I feel that there's some legal issues with that. Also even though 18 year olds aren't fully mature, they're much more mature than a 13 year old for example.
  21. I use both Firefox and Brave these days. I just started using Brave a few months ago. I have Firefox on my phone though.
  22. I feel that this is the best way to get your community to grow and keep growing! I continue to do this though I need to do it more often than I do. I used to give up right away when working on forums when I was younger since I wouldn't give it time to grow and I also didn't know how to promote my sites either. I used Facebook mainly, which that won't get you anything it seems.

I love cartoons! Teen Titans is still the number one cartoon though, nothing beats it! I also love Steven Universe, King of The Hill, Young Justice and the Cleveland Show just to name a few. I also watch some anime with My Hero Academia being my favorite one.
