10 Free Tools to Check Any Website's Traffic
Thank you for this list! I knew of a few of them but like Cedric, I didn't know about most of them! I typically just check Google Analytics but now I'm going to check out the other websites you've listed as well. Though isn't Alexa defunct now? Amazon owns the rights but the old weblink goes to Amazon Alexa products homepage.

Would you rather have a job or run a business?
I would rather have my own job than run my own business. While it may seem cool on paper to be able to work on your own terms, there's a lot more than just that when it comes to owning a business. You need to be responsible and you have to oblige by federal laws and regulations especially if you're hiring other people to help you out. It's too much of a headache to own a business IMO. I'd rather have a full time job and some gigs on the side. (Which is what I'm doing at the moment anyways lol.)

What strategies do you use to celebrate community milestones?
I believe giving out products or services is the best way to celebrate a huge milestone. Give back to your community, since they gave their time to make your community thrive. Also keeping that momentum going by offering other perks in the future can help keep your members coming back for more.

Places on Reddit that you can advertise your forum
I would reach out to the moderators of some gaming subreddits. I was able to promote Gex Forums on r/gex since I asked the head moderator if I could and he gave me the go to. He even joined my forum as well too!

I've completed my part as well.

What site would you like to own?
I'd love to own a platform like Quora, to have a large community where people are asking questions to anything and everything with others sharing their knowledge. I think we have a few platforms like this already, so I've never really tried my hand at making one. Still would be cool. Honestly I would probably pick a different layout format than the other answer and question platforms, they are all similar to Reddit and have upvotes/downvotes which is okay but having a community like this on a traditional forum layout would be more organized and easier to navigate IMO.

What's the first part of your forum you visit when you wake up?
I always end up going to the front page of Thee Zone to see who replied to what threads. That way I can reply to new threads or posts. As for my other forums, I just scroll down and see what conversations are going on and dive in to each one.

Are Staff Team Leaders a thing of the past?
I think team leaders do play an important role on some communities. It helps the admins keep the site running smoothly while other staff can make sure each respective team is running smoothly. I'm a team leader assistant on Forum Promotion, and both I and the team leader on the package team equally work together to improve our team and to ensure things are running as smooth as possible.

Places on Reddit that you can advertise your forum
Thank you for sharing links to promotional friendly sub reddits! There used to be r/forums that I promoted some old sites, but it hasn't been maintained and so you can't post new threads without approval unfortunately so I didn't know exactly where I could promote my websites.

Would You Rather Go to the Mountains, the Beach or the City?
I've never been to the mountains, so I think I'd go with that option! I don't like the heat and honestly I'm not a fan of going to the beach because I'm paranoid I'll get stung by a jellyfish. :V The city is alright at times, but it can get stressful.

When is a good time to sticky a thread published by a member?
I don't really have a specific time frame where I might sticky a thread. If I notice it and think it's worthy of a sticky, I'll change it.

Do You Really Need an Off Topic Section
I think every niche forum now days should have a off topic section. It's a place for those to unwind and talk about things other than the niche. Though what I did recently on my latest forum was to make the off topic section available to those with 10 or more posts. This is to ensure there's some conversations going on in the on topic sections, and to reward members for being active.

I'm back...
Welcome back to the forum Bryn! I hope things are better for you now!

How long have you been managing communities?
I've been managing communities since 2009. Back then I had no clue what I was doing though. :V I feel like at times I still don't but I know a lot more than I did now than then of course!

Changing Your Community Software
If you really want to do this, I recommend getting free hosting on Infinity Free so you can get a feel for self hosting. This is what I did when I first decided to try self hosting, though I went with 000 webhost. From there you can get a free forum script, go over the steps on how to install it and set up a database then once you feel comfortable you could try moving your forum to Xenforo. Though since jcink uses a old modified version of IPB, you'll need to convert to a older version of phpBB, SMF, etc to be able to move to Xenforo. It seems like a lot but once you get used to self hosting things, it's a piece of cake. (You could also ask around too.)

Are Moderation Logs Necessary for Transparency?
I don't think having moderation logs public is a good idea, since you might get backlash from other members. It should be kept private between staff, I don't think I ever joined a forum that had moderation logs public.

What are the most effective ways to collect feedback from your community?
I usually just have a section for members to post their feedback. I think a good approach would be to take surveys but have them linked to your suggestions area, and I might start doing this on my communities.
-
What sections and forums do you think all forums should have?
I always have my announcement sections at the top of the board, same with the suggestions area and introduction section. A off topic section is definitely a must too especially if your forum is based around a specific niche. These are the sections every forum needs, doesn't matter the niche. Though I did make it to where you can only interact with the off topic area on RPG Haven by unlocking it after 10 posts so I can get some content posted in the on topic sections.
-
Do you read all the posts on your community?
I do try to read every post on my communities, I'm also subscribed to almost every topic I've replied to so I get notifications whenever someone replies to one of those threads.

15,000 posts landmark!
This is awesome! I'm happy to be part of a wonderful community and I look forward to seeing how much Administrata will continue to grow.

Mental Health Discussion
I'll take the fourth spot!

Are you a fan of bookmarks?
I use bookmarks sometimes, usually if I'm on my phone and can't check out the link to a website right away. Though I'm bad about going back and looking at the bookmarked site though. :V I've done this on Reddit as well, I've bookmarked posts and forgot all about them.
