Do you purchase copyright removal?
Interesting take I never really thought about spambots making a search for the copyright text and then joining a bunch of Xenforo forums. I still wouldn't have the funds to pay for copyright removal for the paid software I use either way.

Do you purchase copyright removal?
I never purchased copyright removal, I think this option is there for big businesses who want to keep their branding on the community and don't want branding from any other company listed. I prefer to keep the copyright information visible.

Payment Providers for your forum
I've never ran a community that gave out money, but I would stick to PayPal since many Countries use Paypal. I'd look into other ones though if I ever do give out cash or even possibly crypto on my communities. (But honestly I don't think I'd ever will.)

Best free video editing software
DaVinci Resolve is my favorite free editor, but I also like Kdenlive as well. There is a limit on how many effects you can use in DaVinci Resolve, but I've only hit that limit once so it's likely you won't hit that limit.

The Qualities of an Authentic Leader in Online Communities: Why They Matter
Everyone who owns a community should strive to be an authentic leader. Be straightforward, admit to mistakes and you'll show that you're loyal and your members can trust you to run a great community. They will stick around and continue to be part of your community. Honestly you should strive to be honest with anything in life IMO.

How long do you allow for posts to be edited?
I usually don't have time limits on members being able to edit their posts. However I did put a limit on which membergroups can edit their posts on RPG Haven since I wanted to change things up a bit.

Just finished my 20 posts on your forum Nomad! I'm still looking for some more post exchanges.

Dealing with "rude" feedback
Constructive criticism is fine, it helps make your communities better. However if a person is straight up just being rude I would ask them to be more specific in their response. If they choose not to go into detail on why they think my website sucks or whatever, I just ignore them.

Is social media management worth paying for or should you do it yourself?
I think it may be worth hiring someone to manage your social media accounts if your site is large and you need to focus on the website itself. It'd would be overwhelming if you had to manage a large site and try to manage your social media accounts.

Community Chat Thread
Good evening everyone! I get a three day weekend since tomorrow is my wife's birthday so I might not be online much tomorrow. She turns 35 tomorrow, I turn 35 in May. I hope you all enjoy your weekend!

facebook community
I have over 1,000 members in a group on Facebook but I haven't used the platform in over a month. I have way too many friends on Facebook too, I have over 500 because I added a bunch of people back in the day to play Mafia Wars. xD

Why must I always fall for stupid things
If you've been scammed once, you're usually placed on a list and it's shared with other scammers. That's how they're able to target people multiple times under different accounts. I watch channels like Kitboga and Social Catfish, but Kit usually deals with phone scams and Social Catfish deals with romance scammers. Trilogy Media is another channel I watch and they do help people who have been scammed, see if you can reach out to them. I don't know if you'd be able to get your money back, but they could track down the scammer and help you.

Biggest forum challenge to date
Finding the motivation to come up with new posts and keep things running has always been my biggest challenge when owning forums. I'd like to think I'm doing a bit better at this, but I know I can do better with posting new content on my forums. I think I get overwhelmed at times and get cold feet. I've been this way my entire life though.

Places on Reddit that you can advertise your forum
Yeah definitely reach out to mods before posting links, I reached out to the mods on r/gex to see if I could share a link to my forum and they were okay with it. Good luck! You might have better luck in the GTA sub or Battlefield sub than the main gaming subs but it doesn't hurt to reach out. Also check out the subs Cpvr listed too, it's always a good idea to promote your forum anywhere and everywhere possible.

I just submitted one of my forums, RPG haven! Good luck with your website, it's always great when a new directory is created!

Digg is returning thanks to Digg and Reddit co-founders Kevin Rose and Alexis Ohanian
I never used Digg before, it pretty much died I think before I got even interested in Reddit. Though if they're going to rely on AI for moderation, you can forget about me joining the website. There's going to be issues left and right with the moderation if they rely on AI. I guess they really want to earn more money and that's why they decided to bring it back. :V

Places on Reddit that you can advertise your forum
Trust me bro, there's a subreddit for pretty much everything. You've got a gaming forum which there's numerous subs catered to gaming. There is r/gaming, r/videogames, r/retrogaming, and not to mention the subs that are for specific games like r/battlefield, r/gta etc. If you have good karma reach out to moderators of these subs and see if they're willing to let you promote your forum. The worst case scenario is they say no.

Post Exchanges For RPG Haven
Hey everyone, I'm looking to do a post exchange with RPG haven! It's a brand new forum dedicated to talking about roleplaying video games! I'm either looking for a 3/3 daily, 10/10 or 20/20 one time. Please respond with a link to your forum and which exchange you wish to do. Thanks in advance! www.rpghaven.net

Which software has the best default style?
Simple Machines has the best default theme IMO. It looks very professional, and not outdated like most free forum scripts. Heck it's miles better looking than Xenforo's default theme too!

Do you manage your website on mobile or desktop?
I only manage my websites on my desktop. It's too difficult to navigate things on my phone, and my desktop can handle multitasking a heck of a lot better than my Moto G 5G.

How (Not) to Run a Community
I believe these are the reasons why forums end up being abandoned too quickly. Some people expect others to come flocking to their forum, even if it doesn't have any posts on it! Also anyone running a community thinking it's all about them shouldn't bother running a community, I wouldn't want to join a forum where the owner came off as a dictator.

What goes on behind-the-scenes on your forum?
I have a staff section on pretty much all my forums except RPG Haven. On RPG Haven I have a hidden lounge for members who make over 500 posts, which I suspect will probably take a bit for someone to eventually unlock that section. I also have a few other hidden sub forums that get unlocked after making 10 posts, they're the off topic sections and a few RPG related ones too. I also have a hidden trash can on most of my forums too. I tend to take weekly backups of my sites and see if there's anyone needing approval and remove spam bots.

Game Talk Forum
I noticed that the "About the Game Talk Announcements category" has the default new category text rather than unique text. Also interesting that you went with Discourse for your community! https://gametalk.tv/t/about-the-game-talk-announcements-category/2566
