If forums are dying, who's killing them?
Yeah, I can maybe see that. But I think it was happening long before AI really came into the picture. That could just become the final nail. I use AI from time to time, for complex coding. I know just enough to break things, but have the understanding to work with it. So I would venture to say it has its good and bads. But I also think it has to do with a niche, like Senkusha pointed out. As with my new community site, we're really the only community style site out right now. So it's seeing a little attention, but I'm trying to apply the "if you can't beat them, join them" But in my own way. Take Discord, for example. I feel like Discord is a huge disruptor, especially when it comes to gaming. But last night, I integrated Discord with the site so It pulls posts from the forums and shares a nice clip from the post. Just enough to engage them to visit hopefully. Time will tell if it will work. But slowly, the number of users are making their way to discord, and I hope they also stop by the forums, as they can now use discord to make an account.

If forums are dying, who's killing them?
I'm a longtime forum creator. I've been building forums all the way back since 2002. I wonder if most of us who make forums these days are older. It’s starting to feel like forums are a thing of the past, and the only way they might come back is if something happens to social media and honestly, I just don’t see that happening. Like the people in this post said: people are lazy. Even if you make it easy for them to register, they most likely won’t post. I’ve recently created three new communities: one for my business, one for Red Dead, and one for a game currently in development. Out of the three, the last one is the only one doing halfway decent and I’ve had to pour a ton of money and time into it. Even with all that effort, getting people to post is like pulling teeth. I’ve written solid news articles relentlessly, made tools with software to support the community… Speaking of that, I initially locked access to one of the tools behind registration. When I shared the link on Reddit, people completely lost their minds. However, it was somewhat successful lots of people registered to gain access. But the feedback was so overwhelmingly negative that I had to open it up to everyone. After that, registrations plummeted. I still get a few here and there, but for the most part, people just use the content and leave without saying a word or contributing anything. I think it's just human nature at this point, the mindset of "I want instant access and I don’t want to give anything in return, but I’m definitely entitled to it."

Back with a new one for - Gray Zone Warfare
You can always ask me anything. But here Magix, put together a very good guide for new players. https://www.grayzonewarfare.net/threads/lamang-academy-beginners-guide.100/ That should help a lot!

Back with a new one for - Gray Zone Warfare
Thanks :). Well, that's the nice thing about it, you can switch back and forth. So what ends up happening is that many people level up doing PvE and then switch over to PvP. The new PvP update is crazy fun! Yeah, you really should and if you end up liking it, you can sub on our forums :P

Back with a new one for - Gray Zone Warfare
Honestly, I feel GZW could really set the standard for how a military-style shooter should look and feel just like DICE did with Battlefield 1942. I see nothing but good things ahead. If you like shooters man I would highly recommend pickup a copy

Anyone one that has not played Red Dead 2 but maybe interested. Steam has it on sale for 80% off right now until the 17th of this month. I say 80% because I would get the Ultimate Edition over the reg but the UE is $19.99 and the Reg is $14.99. Then you can get addicted and then join my forums :) It's a WIN WIN for both of us lol.. Do you post as 'you', or stay behind the curtain?
It's an interesting topic for sure. I have a business website and forums, and now my hobby forum. On both, I keep my name private. For my business, my name is GN Support (on the forums, that is). My email has my first name, but for my gaming community, like AI said, I just use the domain. Now, there was a little thought behind that move. I want search engines to pick up on my domain as much as possible. I personally don't think it hurts you in any way, but that's just my opinion.

Do you actually need staff when you're starting out?
I was just pounding this same question. I'm 50/50 on it. I feel like “build it and they will come,” but also, having staff could help kick things off. As I sat there thinking about it, I realized that for forum owners, we need to give users something they’re not getting from other sources. And that differs from community to community. Until there's a huge movement away from places like Reddit, Facebook, X, and Discord, what's the real incentive? People are extremely lazy nowadays and come with a “what's in it for me” mentality, in my opinion. So, with that logic, for the last week I've been coding/developing a Posse Finder, since my community is based on the game Red Dead. It's unique and offers something specifically targeted to that community. So, we’ll see how it goes. Also, I want to talk to someone about the credit system you guys have here. I have a few ideas on how this could work for my community but in a slightly different way.

Welcome To The RED D3AD COMMUNITY - Your Source for Redemption News!
Thank you for all the feedback guys it helps so much.. As for the wasteland of the forums. Yeah I feel you on all that but the site is only a few days old and I've been reaching out to other communities and I'm starting to get some replays. AI what is your resolution? It looks like it's pulling the 512x512 logo. I got that today when I was on my phone and I turned it sideways. I made a few changes on my end tell me if that fixed it. As for the forum description. Yep AI topic fillers haha, I was having to much fun styling out the site and really wanted to focus on it, ADHD and all lol..

Welcome To The RED D3AD COMMUNITY - Your Source for Redemption News!
I found this site looking for a XenForo and found a lot more. This is quite an interesting community and I'm happy to have found it. With all that said. I would like to share my new community website for the game Red Dead Redemption. It's my vision to cover anything Red Dead, and including the HOPEFULLY Red Dead Redemption III. There is not a whole lot there at this time, but it's my hope that it will grow. I just finished the theme last night around 3am and think it turned out OK. Is it just me or is setting up a community/forums just fun? Maybe that's just the nerd in me haha. Anyway I would love any and all feedback, and if you happen to be a fan of the series by all means stop by. URL RED3AD.COM - Welcome To The RED D3AD COMMUNITY - Your Source for Redemption News! I'm especially pleased with my word play on this domain =) Thanks for the visit.

Reddit is taking over the internet, and this is not okay.
This is very true. Communities were so fun before Facebook and others. I had a few really big ones, but I was running VB in those days, and now I struggle to get anyone to post even when they’ve taken the time to register. And that’s only because I have the one-click register options: Facebook, Apple, and Google. But it’s like pulling teeth. That said, this community is for my business, and it’s a difficult clientele, so it’s a little expected. But I’m also looking at creating a second community for Red Dead / Red Dead 3 and hoping I can get it to grow roots. At the very least, it will be fun to create. So, we’ll see how it goes.
