★ Off Topix - Active & friendly forum ★
Good luck with the takeover! I've accumulated 1,500+ posts on Off Topix when I used to visit it some time ago. I enjoyed the community and I may consider dropping by from time to time. I have a variety of forums I currently visit, so I can't say for certain I'll be active there.

Is it fair to charge for exclusive content?
When you have freely available content on your forum, would it be fair to charge for exclusive content? Take my forum as an example, I have a forum resources board, would it be fair if I charged users for let's say, themes and extensively built codes?

What decade were you born in?
To discover some of the diversity on Administrata, I ask you this simple question, what decade were you born in? What are some of your fondest memories of that decade? I was born in the 90s. I admired growing up around a caring, supportive family at the time. As a child, I would dig in the dirt or sandbox thinking I was a construction worker because I found construction vehicles excited me and made me want to be one. I also remember going to fun places like the city park, arcades, and theme parks. It was a simpler time.

Are you an over paying person?
I'm poor having only a part-time job, so I pay the smallest portion I can make. I've been eating at home a lot more often than I used to and I use the rest of the money mainly on bills, doctors, and medication. When I get a little extra, I may splurge and buy something I want, but I don't go overboard and buy anything over $100 unless it's much-needed like a new smartphone, laptop, or car. Those are the primary luxuries of my life.

Would you rather buy or build a community?
I would rather start afresh than take over someone else's work. I've always been more fond of creation than duplication, in which you create your vision, not duplicating someone else's. Patience has gotten me 2,000+ members and 18,000+ posts in the past 5+ years. I think my dedication and work have paid off in the long run. Besides, I've mostly run resource boards for specific forum software where I would rather be the primary visionary behind the resources released.

Does your community have sentimental value?
I own one forum. It has sentimental value due to the endless work I've put into the forum over the past half-decade. I feel like I started a legacy by bringing many once-popular resources on ZetaBoards to the Jcink platform.

What makes someone a bad community owner?
I knew someone on a forum that stirred up so much drama that she ticked off so many people. Even one person PhotoShopped a nude photo of her because she ticked them off that badly. People argued with her and were belittled by her because she was an administrator. She had a knack for power and control. I never met such a terrible administrator. Suffice it to say, if you start drama, you better expect that drama to get pushed straight back into your face from the member base.

Theme Parks
I don't mind when they go upside down, more of an adrenaline rush for me. :D Did you visit Six Flags Over Texas? If so, what rollercoasters did you ride there? I've been on all of them, I believe. I refuse to go on the Texas Giant anymore after that lady fell 75 feet from it and died. I know that can happen on any rollercoaster, but I'm more careful with the wooden coasters.

Last non-internet thing you did?

Community Chat Thread
My mother got into a fender bender today. It did very little damage to her car, thankfully. After that, there was a wreck on the same road she was on that was pretty bad. According to my mother, there were about 4 police cars, an ambulance, and a fire truck. The car hit a pickup truck. The car got the terrible end of the stick and was smashed. I have no idea what kind of condition the drivers were in. A reminder to be safe on the roads out there!

Mass Spamming
Have you ever dealt with mass spamming on your board, where a member committed to mass spamming via posting, PMs, or other means? I don't believe I've ever dealt with mass spamming on one of my boards, but I've been the culprit. I once spammed many users' inboxes on a forum due to a staff member severely ticking me off. This was when I was in my lower twenties when I was immature and going through a lot of trauma. I'm 34 now. How did you handle the mass spamming? Could you delete all of the content promptly, did you get the forum network staff involved, and did you ban that member immediately?

Theme Parks
Do you enjoy theme parks? Do you visit them often? I visited Six Flags Over Texas every year when I was younger. I haven't been in quite some time now. I've been to Disney World and Universal Studios multiple times, and I've been to a variety of water parks. I enjoy them, but only when the weather is nice. I enjoy riding on roller coasters primarily.

Should members have the right to delete their post?
I think a staff member should approve whether a post is deleted. Some members could get upset with a (staff) member and go on a mass deletion spree. It seems like the system could be abused in different fashions.

What social media platforms do you use to promote your forum?
I don't use social media to promote my site for several reasons: 1.) I hate most social media platforms, 2.) I feel a forum of my type is better promoted on the platform itself, and 3.) I would maybe attract more spammers and trolls than legitimate members from time to time.
