Give me steak any day. Give me pizza any day minus the heartburn.

Nice introduction and that's a long time to be running a site! I hope you can make the best out of this forum!
  4. I'm not sure since I've only had to ban 4 out of nearly 2000 members and those were all spammers that you know came to drop their link and leave for eternity. I'm all for second chances, but much of that is given before you ban someone by giving them verbal/actual warnings or restrictions. I suppose all in all it depends on the severity of damage they caused and how much of it.
  5. That's why you don't comment/post, but lurk like I do. :D I have two Reddit accounts, one of which I used to make comments/posts and one I haven't posted anything on. Most things you comment on get ignored or buried and some things you post will feed the trolls. That's why I use Reddit to browse only and no longer comment/post. Forums are my go-to for posting. It's amazing how popular DuckDuckGo has gotten, especially in the mobile market.

I know who you are. :D Welcome aboard, my friend!
  12. I think the forum owner should definetely have a fair amount of knowledge based on their niche. It is the owner's job to set the foundation of the board through supporting by any means possible. Take my board for instance, if I had no coding knowledge I would be dependent on the members or staff I hire to fulfill the objective of the board. That's pretty much seeking benefits for the board, whether it's a popularity contest or monetization. Why create a forum for a specific niche you have no passion/knowledge of?

I'm looking to commit to post exchanges on my board, jCodes: https://jcodesresources.com/ We can discuss beforehand how many posts/topics we want to exchange, and once we reach an agreement, we can make the exchange accordingly.

Welcome aboard, Shortie. A face of many forums!

I like a wide variety, but primarily hard rock and metal. My mother and father had us listen to a lot of Christian music when we were younger, but the older I grew, the more fond of different music genres I started to admire.
  16. Google Search Console is pretty easy to use. You have to insert your board URL and a meta tag into the <head> section of your board wrapper and you can get live search updates that way. I use it myself.

Harry Potter wouldn't have been the same without her!
  18. And if it weren't for you using PageSpeed Insights, to begin with, I wouldn't have the 100% SEO score using that tool because my board had similar SEO issues that yours did.
  19. I prefer starting fresh because you can have a lot of old, outdated content when you revive an old board and a mostly inactive user base. Starting fresh, in general, gives me a sense of satisfaction knowing that I have created something new and perhaps unique.
  20. I think I depend on thread exchanges and content bundle requests for new threads, as I have difficulty developing new ideas for fresh thread content. I can make regular posts on my forum quite frequently as others seek help and topics that I can relate to.
  21. I used InvisionFree, then ZetaBoards, and now Jcink. I've been stuck in the non-self-hosted software world for ages. I think I even had a ProBoards forum once.
  22. I closed down a Yu-Gi-Oh TCG board on two separate occasions because I couldn't find a targeted audience. It's tough to find a targeted audience for specific niches like that. You'd probably have to depend primarily on social media to find an audience since that's where most people go these days for such specific niches. My resource board's targeted audience is on the platform itself, so as long as I advertise my board on similar niches on the platform and keep on doing what I'm doing by building up my resource empire, people will follow.
  23. I'm not skilled at SEO-related tasks, but I don't pay anyone to do them. I recently made a few changes to my forum, and although I'm not 100% sure how accurate PageSpeed Insights is, my board has a 100% SEO score on both mobile and desktop once I made a few changes: https://pagespeed.web.dev/analysis/https-jcodesresources-com/0hgxhvjhxw?form_factor=mobile
  24. Right now, my board has no ads because I have Jcink Premium. Though, I use Adblock Plus myself. After my Jcink Premium expires, ads will re-appear on my board, but they are to sponsor the forum software itself, as I do not monetize my forum by any means. I keep Adblock Plus enabled on every site I visit unless the site forces me to disable it to view something I wish to view. I usually turn away from sites that force you to disable your ad blocker.
  25. I do all of the above except for social media promotion. I'm not too into social media and think a forum of my type would be better off promoted on forums of similar niches. My forum generally gains 30+ members monthly from my various ways of advertising, having a link back to our forum in the skins copyrights, and likely word of mouth. I admire signature advertising by actively posting on other forums you essentially advertise your board with every post you make.
